267 Burn Everything

“Hmph!” the young man snorted coldly, and he suddenly flew up.

“Hmph, yourself! You’re courting death!” Aloy shouted with a dark look on her face. Her figure suddenly shot up and dashed after the young man.

When the young man saw this, he brandished the long sword in his hand, slashing it at Aloy. “Get lost!”

Aloy’s blade and the edge of the young man’s sword clashed, and sparks flew in all directions. Both of them backed away a few steps, assessing each other’s strength.

“Although your cultivation base has improved quite a bit, you’re still far from being able to defeat me.”

The young man’s face suddenly became ruthless. He stomped his feet on the ground and his aura rose sharply.

When he saw this, Shen Fei’s face sank. “You’re going too far!”

“Haha, I’ll let you understand what despair is!” With that, the young man’s body flashed as he began to zip around the area. The black longsword in his hand slashed out once more. The blade summoned sword-rays that encircled Shen Fei. The sword-rays flickered, bringing with them a wave of piercing sounds. Each attack contained an explosive force, producing violent shockwaves wherever they struck.

When he felt the terrifying Qi around him, Shen Fei’s expression changed.

Shen Fei seemed to have thought of something at that moment. He stopped his actions and asked in an unhurried manner, “I want to know how you got in. This should only be a place that was created for the assessment. There should not be any humans here other than the exotic beasts, so how did you get in?”

The young man looked at Shen Fei indifferently and casually explained, “This is my territory. Coming in isn’t hard. As for the others who came here, they either died at the hands of beasts or escaped. What need is there for me to do more?”

“Oh? So that’s how it is!” Shen Fei nodded and said, “Then, your target is me, right?”

“Correct!” The young man’s eyes turned cold. His figure flashed as he flew toward Shen Fei.

At this moment, the Flame Owl and the Ice Spirit charged in as well.

“Shen Fei, be careful!” Aloy cried.

The young man saw the spirit beasts and voiced his displeasure. However, he had underestimated Shen Fei, who had used the spirit beasts to resist the full brunt of the young man’s attack.

Shen Fei sneered, and his eyes suddenly turned sharp. “You delivered yourself to my doorstep, so don’t blame me for what happens.”

Then, Shen Fei raised his hand, and suddenly, a thunderous explosion rang out through the sky. Silver snakes of lightning flashed menacingly, as though the punishment of heaven had descended upon them.

“Huh? This… what is this?” The young man’s expression changed drastically when he saw the lightning. He had witnessed the power of the Flame Owl and the Ice Spirit, so naturally he knew that the terrifying attack of the Flame Owl was not something that a half-Saint like him could resist. Thus, he quickly circulated his true Qi to avoid the attack.

But the lightning seemed to have eyes as they enveloped him like an electric cage.

“What the hell is this?!” the young man roared and tried his best to break free from the electric arcs that zapped at him. But he then realized that the lightning clung to his body, making it impossible to escape.

The moment he realized it, the lightning struck.

The malevolence on the young man’s face disappeared instantly and was replaced by fear. He just realized that a huge vortex had appeared in the space around him. The vortex was large—more than three meters wide—and it was like a mouth that wanted to swallow him up.

“No! No!” the young man screamed madly, trying to break free. But how could he stop lightning?

With a crisp crack, the young man was torn to pieces inside the lightning cage. Not even the bones remained.

When Shen Fei saw this, he heaved a sigh of relief.

As expected of someone who was almost a full Saint. If it had not been for the help of the Flame Owl and Ice Spirit, Shen Fei would not have been a match for the enemy, let alone escape.

It was unfortunate that the Flame Owl and Ice Spirit’s powers had killed this young man…

Shen Fei let out a shuddering breath, and his face finally revealed a trace of exhaustion. The attack earlier had consumed a lot of his true Qi.

“Are you alright?” Aloy walked up to him from the side, her eyes filled with worry.

“Hehe, don’t worry, I’m fine.” Shen Fei waved his hand, then said, “Someone wanted to kill me, so I couldn’t just sit around waiting for death, could I?”

“Yeah…” Aloy could not help but chuckle at this. Then, she looked at the young man’s corpse in the distance. “That was too despicable; he actually ambushed us.”

Shen Fei regarded the corpse coldly and indifferently said, “Despicable? Was he even worth any regard? If he had not provoked us, we would not have bothered with him. Since he oh so politely came and attacked us, who was I to hold back?”

At this, Aloy nodded in agreement.

“Alright, let’s go.” After Shen Fei finished speaking, he leaped up and flew into the distance. Aloy naturally followed him hurriedly.

“We have to look for other exotic beasts. We didn’t manage to kill the Red-striped Tiger, nor the Snow Leopard in the end,” Shen Fei said.

He had noticed that the moment they left, a Snow Leopard had fled into the distance. It was obvious that it had gone to find its own companions.

Aloy nodded in agreement. “That’s true. Although the exotic beasts in this realm have a much higher level than us, they don’t seem very smart.”

With that, the two of them sped off.

Soon, Shen Fei and Aloy discovered another area with many exotic beasts.

Shen Fei muttered, “It seems that if we want to get the crystal coins, we’ll have to fight here… Let’s go hunt some exotic beasts.”

“Yeah,” Aloy replied softly. Then, she turned into a streak of light as she flew off, with Shen Fei following close behind.

In the next second, the beasts in the distance had discovered them. Their eyes flickered with bloodlust as they pounced on the two cultivators.

“Shen Fei, be careful.” Watching the exotic beasts charging at her, Aloy’s beautiful face could not help but turn solemn.

Shen Fei chuckled. “Don’t worry, I can still handle them. Flame Owl, Flaming Bramble Inferno!” he ordered.

A moment later, the Flame Owl quickly rushed toward the exotic beasts, its body burning with raging flames.

Sizzle! The flames immediately enveloped the exotic beasts.

“Howl!” they howled in pain, bodies twitching and expanding from the hot gases as they were cooked from the inside.

“It’s done?” Aloy was a little dumbfounded by the scene. She had not even executed her own skills yet.

“Of course, the Flame Owl can burn all things.”

Shen Fei gave a light call, and a wave of warm energy poured into the Flame Owl’s body.
