Chapter 319 - What Is He Here For?

Noticing that her boyfriend had stopped walking the woman turned to him and asked.

"What happened, Qian'er why did you stop?"

The woman asked with worry as she took the small box from his hand and gently cleaned some of the dust which was stuck to it after it fell on the ground.

The two guards gulped down seeing the scene of the woman caring for the young man so much and felt their scalp numb.

"Umm... you need to have an invitation card to enter here I think."

Ye Qian replied with a wry smile.

"Huh, really?"

The young woman raised her brows high and then glanced at the two guards standing by the entrance.

What the young man didn't see was the sudden change in her expressions as soon as she turned to the two guards.

The woman narrowed her eyes and glared at the two guards.

With just a glance from her, the two hunky guards were covered in a cold sweat as she shook their heads and lowered their heads.

But before they could apologize the woman turned to the young man with a bright smile and whispered something in his ear.

"Ohh, so that's how it is, Mengmeng."

"Hmm."

Ye Qian exclaimed while the woman called as Mengmeng nodded.

"Ahem."

Having brought all the things back to control, Ji sighed in relief and carefully wiped her tears as to not smudge her mascara and walked to the two with a bright smile.

"So you two are here, I was waiting for you for so long."

It was her voice that broke the silence of the whole hall as many started to chatter among themselves and started to discuss.

"Huh, so she was waiting for the woman."

Many of the young masters were already carefully staring at the woman called Mengmeng with the corner of their eyes.

How could they not, she was the most beautiful woman they would have even seen if they were to compare her to the others and the fact that she was that peasant's girlfriends made them envious of Ye Qian since most of them were even more good looking and richer than him.

They felt like how could such a woman be the girlfriend of someone like him.

The man barely looked to be coming from a middle-class family and compared to his behavior which was so much flexible made them completely believe their guess.

Meanwhile, among all of the young master's, it was the Young Master of the Le family who was shocked the most.

He was not shocked due to the beauty of the woman by that young man, but by the man himself.

"It's him."

He gasped a mouthful of air and started at the young man with his eyes wide open.

At first, he was also not able to completely discern this man since there were many people who were blocking his sight but after he saw the man he felt his cheeks burning with shame and anger.

If not for the other people around he would have even wanted to pounce on this man and wanted to beat him up.

How could he be able to forger this man who had slapped and beat him like he was a wild dog of the streets till he was in the hospital for a couple of weeks and coupled with the fact that the young miss of the Yuan family had invited him made the Young Master of the Le family feel even more ashamed and angry.

But someone was even more shocked when compared to him.

It was a young around whom many of the beautiful young women and many young masters were fawning just a few moments ago before this drama even started.

He carefully looked at Ye Qian from head to toe and then took a glance at the woman beside him but he didn't stare at her for long but for just a glance and then mumbled something under his breath.

He forced a smile on his lips and walked to them.

'"So Ji, you were waiting for this friend of yours?"

"Hmm."

His question made Ye Qian a bit confused because both he and Yuan Meng were Ji's friends but why did this guy call them in this way, friend.

'Aren't we two?'

But he nodded to the person for whom he had come here and greeted her.

"Haha, how could I not, you invited me with so many efforts."

Ye Qian extended his hand other empty hand and patted it on the birthday girl's head.

"Hmm. Thank you."

With a tinge of blush on her cheeks, Ji looked down while hiding her blush and nodded.

This caused a huge uproar behind her.

"Did the young miss of the Yuan family go to invite him all by herself?" 

There were a few more discussions like such but Ji completely ignored it and turned to her Big Sister.

"Thank you Big Sister."

Ji smiled at her cousin with her face still flushed.

She didn't know what her Big Sister would think of but when she turned to her there was just love and care in her eyes as one would see for the person whom they cared for.

"Come, you should have been hungry."

Yuan Meng patted her head and smiled at her.

But the next moment a frown appeared on her face as she saw the young man behind Ji.

"Cousin Ji, were you making all of the renowned guests wait all this long just for your friend?"

After being completely ignored with his first question, Ji's cousin was feeling like he was being humiliated in front of all the men and women out there.

They were fawning him just a moment ago and Ji and Yuan Meng giving him a cold shoulder made him feel like he was being slapped right in the face.

Ye Qian turned to him in confusion and then to Yuan Meng since he noticed her frown.

There were faces whom he could vaguely recognize which were of the many guys who would be staying by the University gate all the time while being surrounded by their lackeys and many girls.
