Chapter 263 - Mother And Son Gossip

In the kitchen.

Grandma Yan caressed Ye Qian's cheeks with tears in her eyes and a slight smile on her lips.

"Hmm."

Ye Qian nodded and extended his hand to wipe the tears welling in her eyes.

How could he not know what it was like for a mother to make some food for her child and see him eat the food prepared by her like she had accomplished something which would be no less than winning a world for her?

Though Ye Qian didn't quite know how a mother would feel like or even his mother would when he used to feed Little Qiqi and Little Jia he would always feel a sense of accomplishment and he knew that mothers would definitely feel even more than what he would.

Ye Qian wiped the tears off Grandma Yan's eyes with his eyes filled with care.

He could understand a bit of how she must have felt when he had left and now that he was back she wanted to dote him a lot, just like what he wanted to do to Little Qiqi and Yuan Meng.

Just the only difference was that although Yuan Meng was able to cry to her heart's content after he left there was no such thing for Grandma Yan since there was still Little Qiqi in Yuan Meng's womb and she was the only one in the house to take care of her in that conditions.

With all that Grandma Yan could only store all that in her heart while showing her hard side to the world while still missing Ye Qian, her only child whom she had seen grow up right in front of her eyes for so many years.

How could she not feel sad, her son whom she had loved so dearly, he just got vanished right from the face of the world.

Not only couldn't she wail for his death and nor could she be happy for him being alive.

Ye Qian gently caressed her cheeks and brought her to the table and made her sit as he squatted and placed his head on her knees.

"Mom, everything will be fine, you don't have to worry about anything, and about the food, we will cook all of it together."

"And don't feel dejected for anything either. We have all the time we need."

Ye Qian lightly smiled as he passed a tiny wisp of his Spiritual Energy out of his Dantian and made a simple net of it which surrounded Grandma Yan completely.

'If others find this sudden change in her they might be shocked, so better I make a deceptive screen over Mom.'

Ye Qian thought and sighed in his heart.

There was no way anyone would stay calm after seeing Grandma Yan for sure and if someone found out then it would only make it worse.

Ye Qian had also thought that the effect of food made with Spirit Stove will have more effect on Grandma Yan when compare to others but he was also stunned to see the changes in her.

There was barely any similarity between the Grandma Yan of yesterday and the current one sitting right in front of him.

Now that he had made a simple screen around her there would be no one who would be able to see her true appearance and would only see the old Grandma Yan with some light white hairs and wrinkles on her face.

But Ye Qian could of course see it all.

"Ok, since you have everything ready so soon, you must have done a lot of hard work, come sit with me."

Grandma Yan patted his head lightly and smiled.

"Hmm."

Ye Qian nodded and stood up while sitting beside her.

There was nothing much to do and everyone would come within a few minutes and so he felt that spending all this time with her would only open her heart and make her feel happy.

"Little Qi, how come you look a bit tall to me?"

She asked while looking at Ye Qian from top to bottom.

Of course, she knew everything about him and would clearly notice any change so it was only the fact that she had not yet pointed out in front of everyone by now.

But now that the two were alone she asked.

"Haha, mom, we used to get some training and it caused me to grow a few more inches."

Ye Qian laughed while explaining.

Then Grandma Yan continued to ask a few more things about what he would do and where he was at.

Ye Qian of course had made a simple study before he went to sleep yesterday and knew that something like this might happen and so said to her everything, though he still felt sad for telling lie to her.

But he could only accept it or it would only shock her to the core if her were to say both the truth to her.

According to him maybe there would be a time when he would say everything to her but that day was sure not coming any time soon.

But, while he thought so he was unable to see the change in a flash of change in the emotion of Grandma Yan's eyes while she listened to Ye Qian.

But she didn't say anything and continued to tell him a few things that happened in their Village and Town while he was away.

Ye Qian was quite fascinated to hear the things from Grandma Yan as she recounted many of the things which he would have never known.

There were many of his friends in the town with whom he had been since childhood.

But he still felt happy for remembering all the old days of his childhood and felt a sense of happiness and belonging as he heard her.

Grandma Yan and Ye Qian's laughs and giggles continued to make the kitchen lively as the two continued to gossip about many things.

Though Ye Qian didn't know many things and had never done many gossips, he still listened to all the things Grandma Yan said while she would have many emotions as she recalled them.
