Chapter 186 - Father Daughter Trio Embarrassed

At the dining table, Grandma Yan was feeding Ye Qian the food which she had prepared by her own hands while relishing her old memories as she used to feed him the same when he was still small.

But then something happened five years ago and her son was nowhere to be found, to her this was even worse than a nightmare as she lost all her hope to live after getting the news that her only beloved son was missing and it was still unknown whether he was even alive or not.

But today she was feeling like she was not a 50 plus-year-old lady instead was about 30 when she used to dote on her son while she made his favourite delicacies and feed him with her own hands.

To any mother, this was more than all the money in the world and now Grandma Yan was feeling like she was the happiest mother in the whole world as she fed her son.

Unnoticed to her while she fed Ye Qian seeing his eyes moist even she teared up.

"Sniff..."

She wiped her tears off and chuckled.

"You are still crying how many times should I say that you are so old how can you cry?"

Though she wiped her tears they continued to fall from her eyes seeing her son.

"Thank you Mom, for everything."

Grandma Yan slapped his hand and glared.

"Do you even have the guts to thank me, I did all since you are my child, you should never thank me for that, it will hurt more than making me feel happy."

Grandma Yan scolded him while taking another spoonful and brought it to his lips.

This time Ye Qian only nodded and opened his mouth.

"You better don't do that thing again."

Grandma Yan chuckled as she took another spoon full.

But this time a spoon arrived at her mouth and she didn't need to know who it was since it would be only her son.

She opened her lips which had started to tremble and ate it.

And so the mother and son continued to feed each other.

Meanwhile, opposite to them, Yuan Meng and Ning Wei also had tears welling in their eyes.

One was feeling empty while the other was reminiscing the time she had spent with her mother when she was a child.

Though both had completely different thoughts in their mind, they still revolved around the same person.

Which was their mother, but since Ning Wei was orphan and had never received the love of her mother, thus she was even more sad, but that was not for Yuan Meng.

Yuan Meng had lost her mother when she was not much old or small either so she still had the memories of her, but today she saw her mother's pin at the mall and from then on she felt she had let down on her mother and after seeing Ye Qian and Grandma Yan feeding each other, a vague image of her mother appeared in her mind as she used to feed her when she was a child.

And this caused her to feel bad.

Meanwhile, the little girls were looking at their Papa and Grandma and had a simple smile but after looking at their mother they felt sad.

This was quite contradictory for them as well.

Noticing the sad faces of the little girls, Grandma Yan glanced at the two ladies who were trying really hard to cover their tears from her and sighed.

To her Yuan Meng and Ning Wei were like her own daughters now, and she could understand how they felt. since she knew something or the other about them as well.

She stood a little and brought a spoon full Vegetable Stir Fry to them.

Since the table was not that wide she could easily extend her hand at them.

The ladies felt warm in their hearts at Grandma Yan's gesture and opened their lips without her asking for it.

Grandma Yan had a compassionate smile and felt content after feeding the two and then cheered up.

"Now be quick and start the dinner already this old lady is hungry."

Hearing her the emotional mood in the dining room lightened and everyone chuckled and started to eat.

Soon the whole room was filled with chuckles, stories, childhood tales of Ye Qian, Little Qiqi and Little Jia which were of course told by their mothers.

The father and daughter trio felt their cheeks burning from embarrassment when Grandma Yan, Ning Wei and Yuan Meng continued to talk about them.

But having the same faith they didn't let it on their hearts and continued to feed each other.

Soon after nearly half an hour almost everyone was full and was patting their bellies.

Meanwhile, the bellies of two little girls were almost so big that their shirts would rip off since they were already not that big.

Grandma Yan was full of praises as she continued to recall the taste of the soup, chicken, beef, noodles and fried rice.

It was almost like she couldn't find words to praise Ye Qian for finally being able to cook by himself and help Yuan Meng in the kitchen just like Grandpa Xiao.

Then everyone just sat there while Grandma Yan continued to tell some of the stories of their old times, mostly related to some gossip talks.

All the people on the table were listening to all the things that Grandma Yan narrated with nodding every now and then while pointing out some of the changes which were made now from then.

The little girls were staring at their grandma with starry eyes as if they had found something new.

Now, almost all the things were empty and the bowls as well.

Ye Qian stood up after looking around while everyone's attention was on him and went to Yuan Meng and whispered something in her ears.

Yuan Meng nodded and then stood up while asking Ning Wei to come with them.
