Chapter 177: Learning a New Skill+War Plan!

One made the vow, and the other accepted it, and thus a force bound them in a master and servant relationship.

[Congratulations! You've gained a new servant]

[Trial "A Good Master" has started]

[You've become the master of a monster with the bloodline of the flood dragon! Collect water evolution materials, purify them, and feed them to her to help her realize her full potential.]

[Rewards: 10000 units of the essence of life, monster subjugation seal (×3)]

He skimmed over the notification that just popped up in his head, and was pleased with the rewards. He didn't know what the seal was, but he believed it would be something good. Not just that, he believed that he might even earn the eternal gratitude of the Twin-Headed Snake if he successfully helps her evolve to a flood dragon, causing her to serve him for a lifetime, meaning that in the future, riding a dragon and appearing awe-inspiring wouldn't be a pipe dream!

She brought her two heads closer to him, resting them on the ground beside him, then asked, "Well, what should I call you?"

"Just call me by name." He had a lot of people calling him master, and he was a bit tired of it.

"What about you?" He asked her.

"It's up to you." She replied.

"Let's go with Grace. Is that alright with you?"

She nodded her head, appearing a bit happy with her new and more feminine name.

"Elliot, I am going to teach you telepathy, so listen well," she said after some moments.

"I'm all ears."

His ears perked up as he listened to every single one of her words intently.

[Grace had relayed her knowledge about telepathy to you.]

[You managed to comprehend half of what she said.]

[Telepathy (incomplete): 50% comprehension.]

[Increase comprehension rate to 100% to learn Telepathy.]

A few notifications popped up in his mind as she finished explaining everything about it to him.

"How long it will take to learn it is now entirely up to you, Elliot." She said.

"Thanks for teaching me your skill." He expressed his gratitude.

"What's mine is yours for as long as I serve you." She replied, not a hint of regret in her voice.

After talking with her, Elliot created a few birds and sent them out to redirect his slave, Lucy, and the others back to this place. After which, he turned to Grace once again.

"Can you do me a favor?" He asked, a thoughtful look flashing in his eyes.

"What is it?"

"Long story short, maniacs that serve a monster far stronger than you and me have invaded this place. I am sure that they are here to magicians, people like me. For that reason, they had set a barrier that stops us from going out of this place by using a device that lets us teleport back to our world. They want to kill us to please the monster that they worship and serve like fanatics. However, they might be planning to do something worse, such as sacrificing every living being in this forest, including the forest itself, to their God."

"Are you following me?"

She nodded using both of her heads.

"The concept of teleportation, God, and barrier isn't foreign to me, Elliot."

That was great and made it easier for Elliot to explain what he was trying to say.

"Not to mention, I am sensitive to spiritual energy and had sensed a barrier enclosing us inside of the forest, not allowing us to transverse to the other parts of our home several months ago too."

She knew the truth about this place; that this forest with five regions was nothing but a farm created by the spirit race, the master of the Spirit world, and also their rearer. After all, she had migrated from this forest to the other parts of the settlement after becoming a Spirit Grandmaster, a being as strong as a magic grandmaster.

From her words, Elliot concluded that the serpentine devils had come to this place for some beta testing several months ago!

"I don't know why, but the creator of this place, the split soul of the saintess, isn't doing anything to stop them. It's up to us to do something about it. No! I am going to do something about it and kill all of them. However, I fear that I alone might not be enough against them who had come prepared to kill us; that's why I need as much help as I can. You've lived in this place for a long time, and you're stronger than others. If it's you, gathering an army of beasts wouldn't be hard. Am I right?"

He raised his head to look at her in the eyes.

She looked back, meeting his gaze.

"Yes, you're right," she said, "We follow a hierarchy where the weak can only follow the command of the strong. So, it wouldn't be hard for me to subjugate many spirit monsters, evil ones and the kind ones, and gather them to create an army."

That's just what Elliot wanted!

"We, magicians and monsters, are born to prey on each other. However, this time, how about we work together to fend off the danger that is upon us?"

Elliot raised both his hands, extending them towards both of her heads. She brought herself closer to him, allowing him to pet her.

"I understand." She said, "I will go and gather an army after the wounds on my body heal enough for me to fly."

She didn't know how much of his words were true. However, she couldn't risk it. If it was to protect him and her home, then she was willing to do it anyway.

"Bring your wounds close to me," he said in a calm voice.

Although Grace wondered why he asked her to do that, she followed his words nonetheless. He was currently her master, someone she had willingly decided to serve. She wasn't one to go back on her words, and she was willing to listen to his commands.

To her surprise, all she felt from doing that was a surge of relaxation that overwhelmed the stinging pain that has been assaulting her senses.

[You've used 3000 units of the essence of life to heal Grace]

[You've earned Grace gratitude]

[Grace is now able to fly!]
