Chapter 165: Lucy Love Conviction(a)

Although she just woke up and was finding it hard to understand what was going on, Lucy could still make out that he wasn't lying at all. A single look at the people who had saved her and her teammates from all the dangers up until now was enough to tell her that they would die of oxygen deprivation in a minute or so. She managed to see them even in this lightless night because the bright rings that were restraining their bodies also illuminated them and their surroundings. She wanted to save them; that was not only her conviction but also the way she chose to repay them.

"Please don't kill them?!" Lucy shouted and leaped up to him, grabbing one of his arms in a vicious grip. Elliot, however, didn't even feel a single trace of pain. Her soft hands didn't have enough strength to even squeeze his muscles, after all. Her bright eyes met his abyssal gaze. She flinched but didn't look away, her actions causing a subtle change in the way Elliot looked at her.

Now, she wasn't just the sister of his benefactor but a person with qualities worthy of his praise—a humane human, not a demonic human, he thought with an amused look in his eyes.

The ones looking at them had a gaping expression plastering their faces, one that highlighted their shock at witnessing Lucy's actions. Did she not know that he was a demon who suppressed them with a single word or that he had not a single trace of mercy in his heart? Did she not fear him at all? If so, she is damn brave!

Lucy was afraid as well as confused with what was going on, but what mattered most to her was saving the life of her teammates.

Elliot shook his head, vehemently saying, "No can do."

His voice sounded in her ears, telling her that there's no way that he would give up on killing them just because she says so! But she wasn't one to give up so easily!

"Why?" She said, sounding desperate and full of urgency.

"Because that's what they choose." Elliot didn't keep her in suspense. He summarized everything that happened till now to her, taking only half a minute to do so.

After hearing his side of the story, Lucy Love understood that he saved their life and asked them to repay him, but her teammates refused and hence the current situation.

However, she was sure that something was wrong with Elliot; because, as far as she knew, a normal person doesn't tell others to repay them for saving their lives by giving up all their wealth; only bandits and tyrants do stuff like that.

She handed her spatial storage devices to him, three of them, causing him to feel surprised and look at her questionably.

"One for me and two for them." She hurriedly said, not a single bit of hesitation appearing in her eyes as she used all her wealth to exchange for the life of her companions.

Elliot's eyes subtly widened in surprise.

"Can you please let them go if this is enough?" She hurriedly added, knowing full well that Oliver and Arthur won't be able to hold on t their dear life for long.

"I'm surprised," Elliot admitted, a pleasant look on his face.

Humans were greedy, killing and getting killed for wealth and treasure. Such has been the case since time ancient. Even the very first of humans were greedy. Because of greed, children kill their parents and vice versa. However, the lady in front of him was doing the exact opposite of humans, doing something unbelievably humane.

"Please! I beg of you to stop it," her shout came from beside him. "They will die at this rate!"

By this time, Oliver's and Arthur's faces were already beet red, just like ripe tomatoes, and it looked like their face would explode any moment now.

He immediately snapped his fingers, causing the rings around their necks, limbs, and other parts of their body to stop constricting.

Oliver and Arthur dropped to their knees, coughing and wheezing violently as their butts landed on the grassy ground. Behind them, their so-called teammates who didn't do shit to help them also breathed a sigh of relief. Though, they didn't say a word or walk up to them to express their worries as they were too afraid of Elliot.

"What is your relation with them?" Elliot bluntly asked, a calm and pleasant to look at expression appearing on his face, "Are they your lovers?"

Oliver and Arthur heard his words and became a bit shocked. How could a man even ask a noble lady such a question so directly? Does he have no shame? Is his skin so thick that he forgot what it means?

"No!" Meanwhile, Lucy's cheeks blushed at his words, but she vehemently refused, shaking her head furiously as she did so. Her flustered actions just made her look cute.

"Then, why would you go so far as to give up your treasures to save them?" Elliot asked.

"Do I need a reason to save someone?" Lucy said, her eyes brimming with innocence.

Ripples appeared on Elliot's expression after he heard her words, but he composed himself in the blink of an eye.

"Is every person of your family like that?" Last time, Lady Florence saved him for no reason, and now her little sister was saving others for no reason. Does compassion and benevolence run in their family? The same family having two kind souls, is something like that even possible?

Lucy Love didn't quite get him. Looking at him in bewilderment, she asked, "have you met someone related to me?"

Elliot smiled and said, "Yes, and that person is the reason why you're still alive, and you're the reason why they are still alive."

Julian and her teammates flinched as he pointed their fingers at them, drops of sweat rolling down their damp foreheads.

"Who?" Lucy asked, subtle curiosity flashing in her eyes.
