Chapter 153: Enslaving the horrifying Mandrake (b)

A hand stretched out of his back, charged towards the falling treasure box, grabbed it, and brought it back to him. After which, he stored it in his subspace. He hadn't given it much attention because he was busy finding the mandrake.

[-20 units of the essence of life]

Elliot's several units of his essence of life disappeared as controlling and levitating his fingers came with a price, one he happily paid.

"What monster has I offended? Why does he appear so weak but hold such great strength? How can a being even create something great enough to overturn the land! Overturn the land! Overturn the land; that's a power which should only belong to god!" In the field of bushes facing the ground, the mandrake scowled wordlessly, finding it difficult to hold on to the ground.

Although it had stuck its six legs inside of the upside ground, their grip wasn't strong, and they were slipping out inch by inch because it was hanging upside down.

The very next moment, to its dismay, the gigantic fingers grabbing the field from the sides gave the plot of land several rough jerks, causing its six legs to slip out of the ground and it to fall right towards the ground, directly towards its end.

One second, two seconds, three seconds, even after several seconds, the end which the horrifying mandrake so dreaded never came.

However, it felt something grabbing it, something warm but hard, harder than swords forged in dragon-fire.

What is going on?

It opened its eyes, only to see Elliot's face in full glory and notice a smirk hanging at the edge of his mouth, causing its face to contort almost immediately.

At this moment, the expression on its face was similar to a patient spasming after taking an electric current to its chest, one to Elliot's liking.

"Amazing!"

He thought it of as delightful.

"Who the fuck are you?" The Horrifying Mandrake hissed angrily at Elliot, who wrapped his fingers around it. Right after, his expression hardened as he felt spiritual energy rotating inside of its body and realized that it was about to use a soul-damaging skill on it.

"A person who can see through you and tell that you are using the last bit of the spiritual energy in your body to release an attack on my soul and severely damage me," He replied in a tone that fathers use on children when they catch them doing something wrong and masters user on their slaves to stop them from doing something offensive.

"You!" Hearing his words caused a shock to enter its soul and widen its eyes. "How did you find out?" The Horrifying Mandrake asked with a conventional mixture of confusion and bewilderment flashing in its beady eyes.

Its acting was perfect enough to fool the wisest of man, but its insidious intention didn't escape the detection of Elliot's godly right eye of wisdom.

It was trying to manifest its insidious attack to harm his soul but needed a bit of time, and thus, was spewing out words of shock and stuff.

How could Elliot let it continue with its plan?

Before it could conjure soul-stabbing needles that could pass through everything solid and stab at the soul, Elliot raised his fist and launched it at the stupid mongrel.

A moment later, it kissed his knuckles intimately and lost its focus, causing the stuff that was about to materialize to not manifest in front of its eyes!

Its expression grew severe.

It was so close to taking him by surprise, but now everything has gone to dust; it's only chance to turn the tide of the battle, escape or even kill Elliot, gone, buried under the dust.

"Did you thought that you could fool me and harm me?" Elliot said, a grim smile on his face.

In response, it shook its head and came straight to the point, "What do you want from me?"

Someone as powerful as Elliot could've killed it dozens of times over but didn't do so and instead went through the hard way to take him captive. Of course, there must be a reason behind his actions, and the horrifying mandrake wanted to know what it was.

"Intelligent creatures, that's what I like."

An instant after he said those words, evilness flushed his face, scaring even the one born with a corrupt soul.

"However, before we talk about it, I must first punish you for trying to sneak an attack on me and still going through your ridiculous plan even after I caught you."

The look on Elliot's face darkened by fifty shades, an expression that announced the beginning of extreme punishment.

He grabbed three of its legs in-between his fingers.

"You freak! Don't do this!" It cried out, knowing full well that he was about to break half of its legs.

"You don't tell me what to do."

"Snap!"

"Gah!"

Three of its legs fell to the ground, but then Elliot stomped on them, the force behind his attack proving enough to crush them to fine dust.

"Now, shall we talk? You can say no; that is if you want to die."

It cherished its life, and thus, resultantly said, "Please tell me your demands."

"How did you learn my language?"

"I-I," it sweated bucket. It learned it by devouring one of his kind, and it believed that telling him that might push him into the door of death.

"Stop stuttering, and give me a definite answer!" Elliot's voice sounded, stomping on its soul.

"I devoured the flesh and soul of one of your kinds to do so. Please don't kill me. If I knew that person was related to you, I would've never touched them." The Horrifying Mandrake said, trembling out of fear and nervousness; emotions and actions it gained after devouring a person.

Elliot's eyes turned chilly.

The Horrifying Mandrake saw a line between Elliot's eyebrows, one that changed his bright complexion from calm and collected to fifty shades darker, grim in all sense.
