Chapter 139: Remnant of Soul

"So this is the liquefied version of the essence of life," Elliot said while looking at the golden liquid. He drank a mouthful of it. The moment it went down his throat and into his stomach, his essence of life increased by more than a hundred units, and he also felt heat rising in his body.

His little brother stood up, appearing tall and mighty!

What the hell?!

Elliot used his godly eyes to look at the golden liquid that was supposed to be unharmful!

Immediately all the information related to it popped up in his mind.

After digesting the newly introduced information injected into his mind, he realized that the golden liquid was potent enough to increase one's lifespan by hundreds of years and also increase one's sexual urges depending on the amount consumed.

He had consumed a lot of it, and his immunity to poison didn't do anything to defend against it. Thus, he realized that it wasn't poison but only something that increases a person's libido and lifespan.

Anyway, he needed to do something about the bulge in his pants. After a moment of consideration, he decided to use God's Qi to purify himself.

By using God's Qi, he managed to eliminate the impurities in his body and calm down his wand.

Then, his attention focused on the golden liquid.

"The fact that the liquid of this spirit tree has the properties of a sex drug is good. After all, I can fetch a good price by selling it to sexually inept and frail people." Elliot thought with a nod of his head.

There were a lot of magicians that went impotent because of consuming evolution materials. Some women also lost their sexual desires as a side effect. That's not to say that the opposite didn't happen. The sexual appetite and sensitivity of some people doubled and tripled! Of course, they weren't many. All in all, this golden liquid was what many people needed, and he will make tons of buck by selling it.

"Anyway, it's pretty wasteful to drink it."

"I would be better off with storing it."

Elliot stored the massive portion of its remains in his subspace. His subspace could contain anything as long as it doesn't have a will to resist.

"Retrieve the remains of the spirit tree." He summoned his seven undead guards and ordered them to collect the pieces of its body for him.

They went away to pick up the wooden pieces from the ground, dutifully carrying out his commands.

'When have we become lumberjacks?' Elliot wondered while scratched his head.

It took half an hour for the undead creatures to gather the remaining pieces of its body near Elliot. During that time, he not only restored his spiritual energy by using the art of stealing from heaven while sitting cross-legged on the ground but also created many units of God's Qi.

By the time he opened his eyes, a small mountain of wood, branches, and leaves was resting beside him.

A speck of shine coming out of one of the many spirit tree's red leaves entered his vision and ignited his curiosity. He moved towards it and pulled it out of the small mountain.

It was soft, and unlike other leaves, there were blue dots on it.

He looked at it with the intent of knowing everything about it.

[Remnant of soul!

Description: A part of the soul of the spirit tree.]

Even then, only a single line appeared in his mind.

"Can you tell me what this is in detail?" Since even his godly eye failed to tell him more than that, he turned to Hope, the artifact created by the northern duke! He believed it to be extremely knowledgeable and knew he would get more answers from it.

He wasn't wrong. Not at all!

<It's the materialization of the spirit tree's soul. The Champion can consume it to mortify his soul, giving it an extra layer of defense. The mentally ill people will get better after consuming it. An insane person would regain his sanity after consuming an excess amount of remnant of souls and might even become a genius with incomparable intelligence. Last but the most important of all, it can be used to heal soul injuries.> Hope explained to him.

"It's a good treasure." Elliot's eyes brightened as he stared at the red leave with blue specks in his hand. Although it wasn't the best, it was still far better than many.

"Wait! What will happen if I feed it to one of the undead?"

<They might gain a soul or start forming one, I suppose.>

Elliot touched his chin before moving his head back and forth between Kayn, his strongest undead guard, and the remnant of soul.

The aspect of venturing into the unknown was too enticing! Just thinking about it aroused fervent excitement inside his heart. Can an undead gain a soul after consuming it? What would happen if an undead gains a soul? Would it remain an undead or become a living being?

He didn't know, but he was ready to find it out.

"Kayn, come here." Elliot motioned for the demonic-ranked undead creature to come close to him.

It walked up to him.

"Eat it." Elliot raised his hand, showing it the remnant of soul.

Not knowing that he was using it as part of an experiment, it opened its mouth and bit on the remnant of soul.

It didn't know any better!

It only trusted its creation and was always ready to do whatever he commanded it to do.

<Kayn has consumed a remnant of soul.>

An instant after consuming the remnant of soul, Kayn convulsed as if something was rampaging inside of him.

<A soul has started to form in the center of Kayn's brain.>

When that notification popped up in his mind, Elliot's lips thinned into a lovely smile.

"How many remnants of souls does it need to consume to form a soul?"

<About ninety-nine more."

"So, a total of a hundred is enough for an undead to gain a soul, huh."

A sharp light glinted in his eyes.

He decided to feed the remnants of the soul to Kayn and help it gain a soul.
