Chapter 111: Crowned as the Champion!

Lastly, The ones hearing his words felt guilt rising in their hearts. Master Seer also felt the same.

However, the ripples in their hearts disappeared, and their eyes turned resolute, as resolute as Elliot's.

After all, the legend who was telling his sob story didn't express a single trace of pity. So who were they to feel pity for him?

Feeling pity for him at this moment meant disgracing and disrespecting him.

Furthermore, this era wasn't peaceful. It was cruel and merciless, one in which the strong preyed over the weak, and the weakest gets slaughtered by the unfairness of time. If a weak person wants to blame someone, then they can only blame themselves for being born weak in such a cruel time.

Elliot knew that as he had experienced it first hand, that's why he never complained to anyone that Alexander tried to kill him. No one would have done anything about it, anyway.

The ones looking at him felt that they were looking at a gentleman or a hero. After all, when he was weak, no one helped him. Yet, he didn't forget the one time he got helped by another. He didn't forget about the time he was helped even after becoming strong. And now, he was repaying it by letting the other win in his spot.

He even admitted his weakness in front of the crowd, although he had already proved himself as someone of importance to the magician community as a whole. Besides, how many strong and glorious men dare to say that they can do the same? None! Their arrogance and futile pride wouldn't allow them to admit that it ever happened, even if it did.

Sylas felt flustered because of his words, but after some moments, he took a deep breath to calm himself down, then said, "You're glorifying my actions. I only helped you to repay a debt of gratitude."

The onlookers wondered what kind of help the weakest magician could even provide to a prodigy like Sylas, who could use more than two supernatural powers.

Elliot didn't quite get what he said as he didn't know that Sylas won a gamble because of his persistence, but he knew that the big boss was stubborn as hell. So, he won't change his mind no matter what he says.

"Whatever you say," Elliot said.

Sylas turned around and started to walk away. "First off, I am not a scum that would take the rights of the others, whether they are weak or strong. Secondly, I am far weaker than you, so I know I won't be able to win against you. This win is yours, and you've earned it."

He left the arena in an extremely simple but somehow cool way, leaving Elliot with a heavy debt on his shoulders, which he decided to repay if an opportunity to do so arrives in the future.

A moment after he left the stage, instructor Leonard's voice boomed out.

"Ahem! I announce Elliot as the winner of this competition! Does anyone have any objections?!"

The crowd shook their heads, signifying that none of them have any problems with Elliot being crowned the champion!

"Haha! What a Joke! Who would dare have any objections?!"

"Even the strongest of the students in the channel opening stage hasn't managed to land a hit on him. So, who in the first two stages dare to fight him?"

"He had defeated everyone with his own powers! Elder Magician had even verified it! So, who is stupid enough to defy this decision and court death? No one, that's who!"

"All hail Elliot!"

"All hail the legend!"

The crowd started cheering for Elliot, clapping, whistling, and shouting. He stood there, silent and emotionless. Suddenly, a smile made its way up to his face as he took in the praises of the others. He wasn't made of stone, and he felt happy at being recognized for what he was worth.

Some moments later, Instructor Leonardo motioned them to quieten down, and soon silence returned to the crowd. Then, he said, "Great! Since no one is against him being the victor of the tournament, we will now start handing out rewards to the top fifty participants. Everyone, please come on stage when your name is called!"

The eyes of a lot of onlookers jumped up and down in excitement, especially those who were to be rewarded. They waited in their place, waiting to be called upon the stage to get their rewards.

"We will start by giving the reward to the winner of the tournament - Elliot! Congratulations for earning the Divine Needle Artifact, Body Nourishing Magic Fruit, and a life-saving magic scroll." Instructor Leonardo said as he handed out three luxurious items, and Elliot gladly accepted them.

"It's actually the Body Nourishing Fruit!"

"The fruit's medicinal essence is great enough to increase one's lifespan by hundreds of years. If a person properly uses it, then refining their body and increasing their raw power by a large margin isn't a dream!"

Haha, you ignorant fools! The Magic Fruit is nothing compared to the divine needle artifact! The needle contains such a huge amount of pure energy concentrated at its tip that a single poke is enough to open up an energy channel!"

"Doesn't that means he only needs to find where his channels are located and poke them to reach the peak of the energy channel opening stage?"

"It doesn't work like that, you ignorant fool!"

"Then master, how about you tell me how it works?"

"Stop, don't try to pry more information from me! Or else, I would cut your tongue!"

Elliot scanned the treasures in his hands. The Magic Fruit could increase his lifespan by three hundred years or be converted into 10 points of God's breath of Growth. It depended entirely on what he chooses to do with it.

The divine needles truly were capable of opening an energy channel, but only one. After that, one needs to bathe it in a lot of medicinal essences for it to regain its ability to open an energy channel with a single poke.

Anyway, it was a great treasure to climb the channel opening stage. However, to someone like him who didn't have even a single energy channel in his body, this treasure wasn't useful, at least not until he truly awakens.

The third treasure was a life-saving item.

Once used, it would instantly pull his body into another dimension and teleport him back to the teleportation magic matrix that was somewhere in the academy.

With these treasures by his side, he was bound to grow more so than before.

"Wait here," Instructor Leonardo said to Elliot while motioning him to stay in the center of the arena.

"As you say, instructor." Elliot stood on one side of the stage, holding the treasure in his hands, waiting for the award ceremony to end.

"Sylas!"

"Theo Rose!"

"John Crimson!"

"Warren!"

"Eliseo!"

"Marshall!"

Instructor Leonardo called the name of one participant who earned a spot in the top fifty rankings after another. After they walked up to him, he gave them one or two things before sending them back. The rankings were decided by whose body hit the ground first. As it happened, Marshall got the twentieth place, the lowest one in his group of friends.
