Chapter 84: Linda, Lisa's Childhood Rival!

While Elliot went to the first booth to get his token, Theo and John got in line in front of the second booth.

After Elliot got his hands on the token, he stepped out of the line while looking at the number on top of it. Lucky number 77, that's what his participant number was. He turned his head to look for his friends on the opposite booth and saw Theo getting a token from the staff.

As Elliot has become strong enough, to the point where one could compare his body and h1is senses to those of magicians in the peak level of the channel opening stage, one could confidently say that his eyesight was ten times better than humans, and thus, he managed to see the number on top of the token held in Theo's hand from afar. It was 1.

Lisa came up to him, speaking to him softly, and Elliot listened to her.

Lisa came up to him, speaking to him softly, and Elliot held her soft hands, feeling its warmth as he listened to her in silence. Suddenly, he put his finger on her lips, motioning her to stay silent. Lisa looked at him with wide eyes, trying to covey her thoughts by using her actions, asking him what's wrong.

"You sure you don't want to participate in the tournament? You're missing a good chance to explore a newly discovered settlement of the old inhabitants of this world. Who knows? We might get a rare artifact that would allow us to become instant winners in life." Elliot said while looking at the spoiled princess of the Charlotte family. He lifted his finger off her red lips, allowing her to speak.

Lisa intertwined her fingers with him, then said, "Master, I'm not as strong as you or the others in the group. I might be able to beat John, but I would be beaten black and blue before even landing a hit on you and Theo. What's worst is the fact that the ones joining the tournament are in the channel opening stage!! As a woman who is in the middle stage of the magical realm, do you think I have any chance of winning against a magician in the channel opening stage?"

Knowing that there's no way she can win against magicians a realm above her without using external items, Elliot sighed, "I guess I would be exploring that place by myself."

Adventure is fun with a party, and thus, he feels a bit sad as he would be exploring that place all alone instead of with his companions.

"Don't feel too sad." Lisa caressed his face, trying to comfort and cheer him up.

"I'm fine," Elliot said, believing that a solo adventure might also be fun to experience.

Theo heard their words while walking up to them, then he said after coming close to them, "Did you forget about me?"

Elliot turned to look at him, and said, "You confident about winning one of the top fifty spots in the tournament?"

"You will know the answer to that before the day ends," Theo said, unwilling to say boastful words but ready to give him an answer through his actions.

Elliot nodded, understanding his intent, then said, "I will be looking forward to it."

"What about you?" Theo asked.

Elliot beamed a smile and said, "I'm confident that the first place will be mine."

Suddenly, out of nowhere, the voice of a girl sounded in their ears.

"What boastful words! Do you have the capabilities to back them up?"

They turned to look in the direction of the feminine voice and saw a second-year student standing a few steps behind them, and she was looking down at them as if she was staring at some bugs.

Lisa rolled her eyes at Linda, and said, "Lady Might, haven't your parents taught you that it is bad to eavesdrop?"

"Your tongue is as venomous as ever, little girl," Linda said with a proud smile on her face, feeling good as she was a year older than Lisa and also happy to have a bigger bosom, hips, and a slimmer waist than her.

Lisa's cheeks puffed up as she felt bullied by Linda, and she was ready to burn her with vicious words, but Elliot stopped her.

"Let's ignore her," Theo said, then he stood up to show that he was ready to walk away from Linda as if she's a stinking lady who smells worse than horseshit.

His actions appalled Linda!

Simply unbelievable!

But what she heard next struck her heart, causing her to almost puke blood out of anger and frustration.

"Lisa, there's no need for you to pay attention to a roadside dog. Let's go and get John."

"Alright, let's leave Miss All Alone For A Lifetime by herself!"

Elliot taunted Linda, and Lisa left the matter with her rival at that.

"You!" Linda felt angered and confused, unable to understand why someone would call a woman as beautiful as her a roadside dog!

"Me what?"

Elliot had no intention of amusing her, so he walked away and headed to the Booth where he saw John while bringing Theo and Lisa along with him.

Linda chased after them, saying the following words as she did so: "Why did you stand up for a hollow? Don't you know that it's against the unwritten rules and the heads of the second year wouldn't be pleased by your actions?

Elliot stopped in his tracks, calmly turned his head to glance towards her, then said, "I've no obligation to tell you about anything, so bug off."

After saying those words, he continued walking towards his destination with Lisa and Theo.

"Hmph!" Linda angrily stomped her foot on the ground, "I will teach you a painful lesson if you dare join the tournament!"

Elliot heard her words as his hearing senses were sharper than a human. He gave her an appropriate reply by simply raising his token and showing it to her. "Pray to God that you won't be my opponent. Otherwise, things won't end well for you."

"We'll see!" Linda coldly snorted, turning around and walking in the opposite direction.
