Chapter 266: The second floor!

"Animals, Beasts, and everyone with an inferiority complex are the most vulnerable to it. Financially speaking, they are the largest source of Dark Hearts."

It meant that one of five ingredients he needed to create the cell evolution elixir was available in places such as present-day Lorena, the world of elves from where Theo came from, and where demonic gods had already opened a few portals to the ghost realm! Yes, after going through some books, he found out that the demonic gods had combined hands with the ghost realm, a place ruled by abnormalities, to invade and take over the lands of elves. Most of the books in the library were ever-changing, meaning they would get updated with new information every once in a while.

"Lastly, ancient scribe Scrivener recorded in his famous book the light of night that the followers of the demonic god Spider Queen all had dark hearts, yet for some reason, they were able to retain their sanity. Anyway, a person can also get dark hearts from fallen elves."

Elliot was correct, so correct that the others were at a loss of words.

Even a person who had gone through the entire topic multiple times would fail to explain it like him.

"You're correct."

The librarian continued to ask questions about this and that from Elliot.

He answered each of them perfectly, leaving not a single piece of information related to them unsaid.

The librarian didn't have any ill intent, nor was he targeting Elliot. Thus he only asked about things related to the books Elliot had flipped through. Elliot had every single piece of information about these books in his mind. He was able to summarize them into perfect content quickly as if he was partially omniscient!

Except for the first material, Elliot had also found out where he could find the other fours ingredients necessary to create the elixir.

The mutated Star Silk and the Ginseng Queen and King were available in the world of knights and magic. He knew the coordination to this world, too, so he only needed a teleporter to visit it.

The venom of the spider venom was the only thing problematic. The spiders were the direct subordinates of the Spider Queen. Though, they were not too cherished. Elliot didn't mind whether killing them would offend the queen or not. Demonic gods were the enemy of his race and also himself, so he would take any chance to get on their nerves and stomp all over them. The problem was that these spiders didn't have a fixed base! Furthermore, it was impossible to find out where they lived and stayed.

While he could get the last ingredient by killing a beast and obtaining its heart.

"I'm impressed! You're like a living and breathing Encyclopedia!"

The librarian praised Elliot happily, and the mouth of every visitor gaped in surprise. The cause of their shock was that this was their first time seeing him honor someone, not to mention that someone was a human! Anyway, even they were impressed with him. At first, they thought that Elliot was putting up an act to attract a girl or two. Then, even after he answered the first question, they felt that he might've read the same topic for the past decade just for this moment. However, after he answered all the questions about different books perfectly and calmly, the onlookers had no choice but to believe that he had a better head on his shoulder than all of them combined!

"If I were you, I would have been impressed with myself too," Elliot said jokingly.

His words didn't contain any contain. Even though they came out as somewhat offensive, the librarian took it as a joke and crackled a little laugh.

Suddenly, Elliot extended his hands towards him. The greedy look in his eyes entered the librarian's sight, and he immediately realized what he wanted.

"Follow me."

The librarian took Elliot to the counter. After telling him to wait for a while, the librarian searched for the free reading coupon. The counter was in the center of the first floor, and it had many coffee stands, all of which were automatic and self-service. How it works was self-explanatory. There were words on each button of the coffee machine. Press this, and that will happen. Elliot pushed one button after another, a total of three. A moment later, with a noise sounding close to a clash between metals and the raise of the lid, a cup of coffee got delivered to him.

He picked it up, and just when he took a sip, the librarian appeared before him with a coin in his hand.

"Here, take this. It will allow you to go to the second free and read three books for free.

"You might think that three books are not a lot, but they actually are, as the second floor contains secret techniques, pill recipes, weapons and robot creating plans, and high-quality books like that. So, even three are worth a lot.

"There's a time limit, though. Flip the coin, and you'll understand."

Elliot did just that and saw the number 1 on it.

"Only an hour?" Elliot said in a somewhat disappointed tone.

The librarian rolled his eyes. "What do you think of me? I am not that cheap."

Elliot's eyes brightened up.

"So, it's for an entire day?"

"A week, but of course, you can come out early."

"That I might not do." Elliot said, "But anyway, thanks."

After splitting up with the librarian, Elliot went up to the second floor by using the token.

The thing he came across was a monument describing one of the legends of the omnipotent, omniscient, and indifferent race.

The monument only had three sentences. Each sentence was translated into the soul language.

The first one revealed that the divine race stood at the peak of technology, magic, and all the other stuff.

The second one described the legendary event in vivid detail, a legendary tale that even left Elliot speechless!
