Chapter 253: I am stripping others naked (b)

Out of all the treasures in this gambling stand, the amulet was the very first thing that had caught his eyes. After all, it was such a rare treasure that even the Magic Emperor would fight for it! He didn't doubt this statement at all. He didn't go for it before as he was greedy for the potion with the recipe. In his mind, it was more precious than the amulet. It's because it would allow him to pull many holy-type magicians towards him.

Old Robert puked out a mouthful of holographic blood as he picked up the amulet from the shelf, walked back to Elliot, and extended it towards him.

"Here you go, dear customer."

With a raise of his hand, Elliot snatched the amulet away from the old robot. To add insult to injury, he happily smiled and kissed the second-life amulet!

"Thank you for offering such a good thing to me. I won't die even if someone kills me now! Hah, hah, hah!"

Elliot's happiness knew no bounds. Like its name, the amulet grants its wearer a second life. How it works was also simple. He just needed to execute four simple steps to integrate the second-life effect into his body.

Right in front of the onlookers' eyes, he shoved the pointed end of the amulet towards his chest. The force he used was considerable, and its sharp end cut through his skin and gorged into his flesh. The effect of his supernatural skill didn't activate as per his demand. Elliot felt its tip touching his frantically beating heart.

"This is going to be painful, but let's endure it like a man!"

Without uttering even a single moan, he twisted it. Blood gushed out of his heart and touched the amulet. The moment it came in contact with his heart's blood, it evaporated into countless specks, each the color of snow. They all gathered around his heart. His heart healed, along with that, his flesh and skin also returned to their original state. When he returned to his peak state, a symbol also found its way all around his heart. Now, he was no longer feeling any pain or even the slightest bit of discomfort. Instead of pain, he felt immeasurable pleasure. Even if someone kills him now, at most, the seal on his heart will break. Then, not only would he survive, but he would also recover to his peak state.

What a great treasure!

"You're too vicious." Old Robert said.

All the robots here could tell that Elliot was a human being, an existence made out of blood and flesh. They had come in contact with humans in the past, so their database contained records about them. They knew that even the strongest human would hesitate to do what he did and even cry doing it, yet he barely showed any emotion. While some thought that he was cruel not only to his enemy but also to himself, the other thought that his nervous system was defective, causing him not to feel pain.

"I will take that as praise," Elliot said.

"What do you want?"

Elliot was still standing at the same spot, showing no intention of leaving, which irked the old robot.

"Don't you already know?"

"Dear customer, winning once or twice in a game of luck is already unbelievably good. You should be satisfied with what you have already won. It will do you no good if you keep on abusing your luck. Next time, maybe you will suffer a loss. How about you stop, and we go our merry way?"

Elliot shook his head, not willing to give up.

"Thanks for your advice, but I believe in my luck. I can confidently say that at the end of today, all of the treasures on the shelf are going to belong to me. The question is, which ones should I pick up first? Heh, heh! Should I start from the best ones and then go for the worst ones or vice versa? You decide."

"Pah! I don't believe that you can keep on winning." Old robot snorted, thinking that he would let reality slap the young man on the face.

"Then, get ready to be wronged."

"Reality is going to wipe that grin off your face."

Old Robert refused to believe that someone would be lucky enough to keep on winning continuously, and so it chided him.

But at this moment, Elliot beamed a smile towards Old Robert. The poor shop owner felt that something terrible was going to happen to him, and he wasn't wrong in the slightest as in the very next moment, Elliot repeated the exact same line he had the previous two times. As a result, the old robot automatically handed over a gambling ticket to Elliot.

It was a very bright day today. All the robots were happy because they heard that a few new guests had arrived at this lonely place. They wanted to interact with them, hearing stories about the outside world, and possibly scam one or two-spirit points out of them. Old Robert was no different. It harbored the same thought, and when he had met his target, he felt lucky and thought that he would be making a little fortune. But who would have thought that something the exact opposite of what he had supposed would happen.

As the gambling god flipped the stones, the ocean overturned the land, and one by one, Old Robert lost his treasure. He had two hundred treasures on today's shelf. They were of varying grades. The majority were novice-grade, a few dozens were at the intermediate-grade, some were at the peak of the second grade, almost touching the boundary of advanced ranked items! He had lost all the good ones and was now only left with novice-grade treasure. Yet, the god of gamblers showed no intention of stopping!

"Please stop it! I'm already on the brink of bankruptcy. Any more, and I will not even have enough money to buy stuff to oil my rusty body parts. I beg you, leave me alone."
