Chapter 242: Grand Reveal (b)

The members of the resistance had also tinkered with the spatial rifts! Before, a person could only go back and forth between the planets owned by the serpentine devil by using the spatial rifts. But after they messed with them, beings entering the rifts from Earth would get teleported to the graveyard of the ancient civilizations called planet Xavier.

"No wonder there are so many settlements of different civilizations in Xavier. It was a graveyard where the fallen civilization buried their remains all along!" Lucy was awed to know the truth of the world she and her race had been trying to explore for so many years.

"Who created it?" Elliot asked.

He didn't believe that the members of the resistance had enough strength to create a planet. After all, if they were so strong, they would've managed to defeat the 72 demonic gods already and saved others from the threat of getting annihilated or becoming slaves of disgusting creatures.

"Since time ancient, there had been many predatory races, and many civilizations had fallen under their hands. Among them, there was a race so strong that even their children were born strong enough to destroy stars, and their warriors could annihilate the galaxy. For them, seeing the rise and fall of civilizations was a common occurrence, and it was a sort of their custom to remain indifferent to the death of planets and the atrocities of predators.

"However, one day, a talented member of their race started to care about what was happening outside of his glorious and everlasting bubble. In the ancient record, it's said that that higher being felt pity to see a large amount of knowledge getting lost in the flames of war. So to preserve the various shards of knowledge scattered across the space, he created a library for the fallen civilizations and put their remains there. This library which was the size of the planet was so strong that nothing had ever managed to destroy it.

"Afterward, many advanced civilizations started to treat this place as a graveyard and also their haven. When they knew they would collapse, they would send their best seed, technology, and the highest grade of knowledge into this place, hoping to rise once again. Some would pass the test of time and colonize a planet with plentiful resources for their race; the others would fail. But all of them would leave behind their knowledge in this library, hoping to help others in the same position as them. Though, only those who manage to prove themselves worthy by completing their trial would get their things."

There was more to that, and Theo also very patiently explained than to Elliot and Lucy.

"The members of the resistance knew of the existence of this place, so they linked planet Earth to it, hoping that humans would become strong on their own. After all, they can only do so much while fighting their war against the main forces of the demonic gods across the seven starry belts comprising many planets and hundreds of civilization, and it's entirely up to us to save ourselves."

"What a headache." The horrifying nightmare had never gone out of its little well, so it didn't know about the greatness and vastness of the universe. Even Grace was unfamiliar with most of the terms used by Theo. There was a big hole in their common sense, but Elliot was sure that after reading a hundred or so books and watching some thousand movies, they would be able to fill it.

Meanwhile, he connected the information gained from Theo with what he already knew and came to many conclusions.

Theo had left a lot of things out. For example, the elven civilization had also fallen under the hands of the demonic gods, and that he was an elf. Or that John was a vampire, and there was a slim chance that his civilization had also gotten destroyed by either the demonic gods or some other predatory race.

Anyway, he had no intention of poking around the bushes and making them uncomfortable. Since they wanted to hide their race for him, he wouldn't force them.

He directly asked about the things he wanted to know. "Do you know what happened to the soul race or why they appeared here in the first place?"

Theo nodded his head, "They caused their own destruction, but after years of careful planning, they managed to rekindle the slumbering soul of their continent and even managed to find resource planet in the distance cold space with no signs of life. You can say they were fortunate, coming across a one-in-a-million opportunity."

There were many records in this place telling about the rise and fall of the soul race and how they caused their destruction.

As everyone already knows, the soul race was highly arrogant. Even Elliot knew that because he had come across the last words of the king of kings. They were used to flaunting their wealth in front of others, and that's what attracted endless greed and numerous battleships their way.

Although they weren't defeated even after fighting for hundreds of years, the prolonged war exhausted their resources. The planet was empty. Not just that, spiritual energy was also depleted to a threatening degree. Newborns couldn't gain a spirit mark, and trees and other creatures failed to gain intelligence. As a result, the spirit race couldn't continuously replenish their troops, and they started losing one mineral and resource planet after another.

At the end, when their home planet and race were under the threat of enslavement and partial destruction, many frantically escaped to this place.

Then, they explored the most desolate places far away from their hometown and came across one treasure trove after another. Planets with many resources and no danger, the spirit race found hundreds of them. With so many resources, they trained the newer generation and crafted the best weapons. After living in Xavier for ten thousand or so years, mating, impregnating, and increasing their population to a very high number, they went back to take what was once there and succeeded in doing so.
