Chapter 237: Intervention!

"Umm, are you sure you want to return?"

Elliot was a bit perplexed. He couldn't understand why the magic knight was adamant about going back to his family even though he was only a step away from entering the treasure trove of the ancient race.

"Yes." Oliver had multiple reasons as to why he didn't want to advance any further. First off, Elliot had already done so much that he found it hard to accept his kindness once again. Secondly, he was stepping down right now to show the world that he had lost against him.

"Good luck and take care." After saying these words to the people standing opposite to him, Oliver tore apart the talisman in his hand.

"You too." Lucy, Elliot, and Grace waving their hands at him as to say goodbye was the last thing Oliver saw before his vision turned blank, and by the time light entered his field of vision, he was already in a forest dense with trees and overgrown greens. It was just that this forest looked too majestic. Each tree was more significant than a house and taller than a skyscraper. And each petal and leaf was larger than him.

"Where am I? And why is everything here bigger than me?"

He had faced a problem while teleporting and landed in an unknown spot, causing him to become anxious. He was strong but not strong enough to roam planet Xavier. If some beasts above the demonic realm live in this forest and it comes across him, he would instantly become its dinner! Oliver realized the pearl he was in and immediately became attentive to his surrounding. Raising his head, Oliver saw black smoke soaring to the sky, and although it was somewhere far away, it was still a sign of civilization.

Oliver walked towards that place, hoping to find someone who could direct him out of this forest so that he would be able to return home.

It's just that he was no longer in planet Xavier!

After completing the trial, Elliot, his contracted spirit beasts, and Lucy walked up to the copper statue stationed at the beginning of the nightmare zone. He went ahead and knocked on it thrice. Immediately, the statue's eyes snapped open, beams carrying intense brilliance coming out of it.

A holographic screen opened in front of them.

[It's detected that you've completed the trial and earned the right to enter the housing complex zone of the soul race. Would you like to generate the connecting zone portal?]

[Yes/No]

"Hurry up and open it!"

Right after, a crack opened up in space. It was semi-transparent and showed the appearance of the other side. Elliot and the others could see many cocoon-like buildings hovering above a good-sized river. Green Bridges connected one housing complex to another. Elliot concluded that they were made of something like leaves.

"Waw! This is my first seeing this zone." Grace exclaimed.

"You had never been to this place?" Elliot asked.

"I have flown across the entire place but never came a zone like this." Grace nodded her head.

A thoughtful look flashed across Elliot's eyes as he determined the various reason why Grace never came across this zone.

"Their houses seem too different than ours."

Well, it's because the spirit race was far more advanced than humans. Elliot knew that, while Lucy didn't. It's all because he had covered the entire map and came across a lot of ancient text and found out the truth about this place, but the same couldn't be said for others.

"Ladies first."

Like a true gentleman, Elliot allowed Lucy to go first.

"Then, I will be going ahead."

Lucy didn't refuse his kindness and took the portal. The very next moment, she found herself in front of a bridge that led to a fountain.

"You guys are next."

Elliot's pet went ahead, but a mysterious force denied them entry. It was the rule of this place, but they didn't realize it. As a result, they tried to force their way into the portal. Not only were they extremely prideful, but their master was also looking at them, so how could they allow something to disgrace them and cause them to lose face in front of their master. They changed into their original form and attacked the force surrounding the portal. Their resistance proved useless as the invisible force bounced them away, causing them to shoot towards their master's sturdy chest. He raised his hand and stopped the two giants. He budged not even a bit and placed them on the ground hands.

"Stop your mindless assault."

A voice came out of the copper statue.

"You beasts belong to this forest. Although you're allowed to travel to other zones, the housing complex is still a forbidden area. It's a place only the trial takers can enter, and you two aren't one. Now, go back and stop causing trouble!"

It sounded like a woman's voice, and although the words were harsh, no signs of threat appeared around them. Elliot thought that the voice might belong to the soul of the barrier.

"Master, it looks like we can't take this portal."

The two returned to their little forms and said those words with a regretful expression on their face. They wanted to tag along with Elliot as they not only enjoyed being in his company but also because Grace and the horrifying nightmare believed that they would witness many incredible sights and become even stronger.

"Master, I guess this is where we part."

The cute little doll had her head held low. Even the coldest of heart would melt at this dight, let alone Elliot. He patted her on the head and said, "It's too soon to be disappointed."

"Master, do you have a plan?" The horrifying nightmare asked.

Elliot nodded his head and turned towards the copper statue.

Elliot asked. "Is there a way to take them with me?"

He was unwilling to part with them. They belonged to him! If this place refuses to let him take them away, he doesn't mind destroying the entire settlement and fighting against the spirit to get what he wants!
