Chapter 220: Priceless Reactions! (a)

The sound of the explosion was so loud that it spread throughout the forest of the spirit beasts, reaching the ears of all things inside the five zones. Those asleep woke up, feeling terrorized from head to toe as if someone had sodomized them. The eyes of many beasts turned towards the source of the resounding reverberation. They saw mushroom-like red and gold clouds rising to the sky.

"Too powerful!"

The onlookers felt as if a nuclear explosion had taken place in the eternal snow zone. They weren't wrong in the slightest. The clash of the two titans, Elliot and The Serpentine Devil, had resulted in the snow overturning the land. From the point of impact, massive shockwaves spread, blasting outwards. The snow covering the ground got raised while trees, bushes, and everything that had managed to grow so far in the coldest region of the forest got uprooted. The snow that got lifted to the sky was no different than long waves of oceans that only manifest under a full moon. The moment it fell to the ground, all the territories of beasts in the eternal snow region got buried under whiteness that carried a frigid coldness to it. Thankfully, all the beasts had adapted to the cold and had thick fur and flesh that kept them warm.

"What a disaster," Grace said while looking down from the sky. She had taken flight after she saw snow rising to the sky, threatening to submerge everything under it.

Luckily, Lucy came with her. As she looked down, she only saw a ravaged land as white as the brightest moons of planet Xavier.

"Is he alright?"

Lucy felt worried for Elliot. She felt it clearly, her thumping heart that searched for his figure. Her eyes stared at the place where she lost sight of him, hoping for the aftereffect of the explosion to clear up so she could see that he was not injured

"I hope he is." She said with her hands placed on her chest. Internally, she had already started to pray for Elliot's safety.

"God damn it."

Unfortunately, not everyone was lucky enough to escape or not be in the way of the outflowing waves of snow, and it poured down on many members of Elliot's army that were retreating to a faraway place.

Oliver and the four guardians of the nightmare zone, along with many of their subordinates, were sadly buried under the snow.

Plop! Plop!

One by one, heads came out of the thick snow. All of them belonged to the spirit beasts except for one, and that person was Oliver Charlotte. Nothing adverse had happened to them, and they were all safe. The cold didn't do anything to do beasts. Though, could the same be said for humans? Yes, indeed. Nothing had happened to Oliver as he used the help of his magic matrix to enclose himself in a skin-like magical substance made out of magic power that helped keep the cold away until he crawled his way out of the snow.

[Death's Gaze, a low-level Hell's Paradise, had struck your creation, The Eternal Shield.]

[The chaotic force of the serpentine devil's extraordinary attack is doing its best to destroy and corrupt the Eternal Shield.]

[The Eternal Shield refused to be put down by an insignificant ant.]

[Eternal is in its name and a shield it is—it is a shield that one can not destroy unless you run out of all of your essence of life.]

[It is a shield that will protect from all charm, be it offensive attacks of magical or physical nature.]

[It can even block curses for your sake.]

[The chaotic force had managed to corrupt a small part of your Eternal Shield.]

[-100000 units of the essence of life.]

[Eternal Shield's health point: 300000/400000.]

[You can reinforce it by pouring the essence of life into it.]

Meanwhile, Elliot stood behind a wall that looked no different than a sun, albeit one shaped like a wall rather than a ball. It was so bright that it could pierce the eyes of the onlooker, and it was destroying the crimson sword that was trying to break it apart.

Of course, it failed to do so, and Elliot could see that.

"Eternal shield, a good name for a product of my wild imagination." Elliot thought, a smirk appearing on his face.

All around him were snowy clouds, and he was in the center of it all, appearing to look like the master of frost.

The dust cleared gradually; then, everyone could finally witness the outcome.

"Amazing!"

"He managed to block a direct attack from the serpentine devil itself."

"He is too powerful."

"Take a look at the situation carefully! The serpentine devil had surely used all its power to launch a sneak at the boy. But the defense the boy put up in the blink of an eye didn't only manage to block an all-out attack from the serpentine devil but also managed to retain nearly all of its initial glory! There's no more than a single dent on his shield!"

"This youngster, hasn't he surpassed all of us?"

A sense of absurdity filled all of them when they saw that the crimson sword had only managed to make a small crack in the great shield that looked as magnificent as the gates of heaven. For one to add insult to injury, the damage was as minor as the tiniest dick ever recorded in history.

"Yes, I mean, who among could survive such a devastating attack?

"Only the elder magicians and the magic emperor can come out of it unharmed."

"Look at him! He is also unharmed. The serpentine devil's attack failed to even leave a scratch on him."

"He got a mighty supernatural power that defies all logic!"

The gossipers couldn't help but compare Elliot to the likes of Magic Emperor. They weren't blind, and most of them were at the rank of the king of magic. It was easy for them determine the power level of the serpent's attack and Elliot's defense by using themselves as modules!
