Chapter 290 - Gaining Access To The Resistance Network!

The queen's reminded him about a lot of things.

He had a world to go back to.

He had people waiting for him back there.

He had a life to live!

He had people who needed his protection!

He had grudges to settle with the demonic gods!

He had a lot of things to do, many responsibilities to uphold, and so he couldn't extend his stay here any longer.

"I know," Elliot said, and to show that he meant it, he stood up from the cushion, stabilized himself, and told the queen to give him the mark of the resistor.

The queen asked him where he wanted it, and Elliot thought for a moment before saying that he wanted it tattooed on his back. The queen agreed. He took off his upper garment, revealing his muscular back to the queen. An enticing sight it was, but she didn't have any interest in her eyes. With a slightly arrogant look, she placed her white as snow palm on his back; instantly, thousands of texts surged out from the very spot where her hand rested on his shoulder.

The texts were black and seemed like codes, laws of some sort, or software.

They spread outward, covering Elliot's entire back.

Then, they contracted into a spiral form, forming the mark of the resistor.

"It's don–"

Before she could finish her words, the mark she had branded on Elliot shattered apart.

"This, how is it possible?!" A ripple finally appeared on the ever calm face of the queen. She, who was always as still as the ocean and as graceful as the sun, was no longer to keep her calm when she saw her creation shattering into pieces.

Elliot had also managed to shock the Saintess of the Spirit world who had seen her civilization fall from grace and rise from ashes, folk!

Elliot turned around and met her eyes that were as wide as saucers.

"Is there something wrong?" He asked.

"There is."

The queen told him to stay still and started touching him here and there, and after a while, she exclaimed, "You already have it on your back! That's why my branding didn't work. Though yours is the very first version that has long been outdated, and that's why even though you have the brand of a resistor, you couldn't connect with the main server and communicate with fellow resistors. As long as I put some codes into it, it will upgrade to the latest version and grant you different abilities. How did you get it, hmm?"

Elliot knew that he had the mark of a resistor as he got it back in the spirit forest. He didn't know what he could use it for, though. Thus, he lured her into making a brand on his back so that she would see it and spew out some information about it.

Some things were better left unsaid. Otherwise, a person can land himself in a pit of trouble impossible to survive, much less escape.

"A secret," Elliot said with a mysterious smile on his face.

"Are you for real?"

Elliot gave her a nod and then told her to fix the mark on his back.

Words once again surged out of her hand and poured into his back, intertwining with the invisible mark of the resistor on his back.

Unless a person poured spiritual energy or mana in their eyes, it was impossible to notice that there was a mark on his back.

That's why she initially failed to notice it, and only after putting spiritual energy in her eyes did she see it.

[Your mark of a resistor Version 1 has upgraded into Version 10!]

[You've gained the ability to connect with the main server of the resistance organization!]

[You've gained the ability to access and lurk in the server of the resistance!]

[You've gained unrestricted access to the shop of the resistance!]

[As your mark belongs to the first version, you've gained the rights to act as a moderator!]

Elliot didn't hesitate to try it out. He was instantly amazed—a list of names opened before his eyes when he connected with the main server. He could call any one of them. After that, he accessed the forum and found intel on many things. The good thing was that he could access private pages too! What a cheat! He had gained such authority because he had the same resistor mark as the founders of the organization!

"Bye." Elliot left after throwing that word to the queen.

With no one but herself in the hall, she didn't need to keep the pretense of a holy existence any longer.

"Ugh, that damn bastard!" She cursed Elliot and pulled her hair, wondering how he got the first version of the mark that only the founders of the resistance, such as the pill emperor and the wine lord, could get! Her curiosity was killing her.

"If that brat had told me the truth, I would have said to him that the people he met are still alive. He missed this chance, and he probably will live without ever knowing that, haha!"

If I feel hurt, I will leave you in pain; that was the queen's motto, her way of life!

Elliot left her in curiosity, so she left him as a stranger to the truth.

___

Lucy, Grace, and the little nightmare had long conquered the legacy of the experts of the spirit race. As they had made friends with others in the dream-like world just like Elliot, they had cried for several days before calming down. After a few weeks, though, they managed to move on and get on with their life.

They had done it in two years and returned to the housing area, waking up. Every day, they would put what they had learned into practice and wait for the last person to return back to them.

Today, their wishes got fulfilled, and Elliot returned to them.

"I can see, master!" Little nightmare said.

"Where, where, where!" Grace paced around in search of him, and when she saw him, the little two-headed snake rushed into his embrace.

"Welcome back." Theo, John, and Lucy welcomed him home.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, guys! I'm back.." Elliot said with a beaming smile.
