Lena didn't really know how to respond to what was happening. Her mind was still more on the flight-or-fight effect that had taken over when the lights suddenly went off. Her damn overreacting sense were so troublesome in circumstances like this.

The pressure that so many people were watching what as going on even if they were her family wasn't helping her any at all. She knew what to say, or rather what she wanted to say. Instead though, when opened her mouth the first time as she looked at Samuel's expectant face, nothing came out right away.

"Of course this would happen to me." She sighed under her breath as she closed her eyes for a second so that she could collect herself. She was certain that if it was anyone else proposing to her that they would assume she was going to reject them because of the delay in her response.

Samuel though, knowing how the Princess was had an idea of what was going on and didn't say anything as he waited for the other to sort herself. This for one actually hadn't been his idea to propose in such a way to her. He had just been planning on giving her the ring as part of the engagement party, but Leo was the one who had suggested doing something different.

The restaurant was Zane's suggestion because of how close it was to the venue that they would be visiting. It meant that hey could spend enough time getting familiar with the venue but not worry about being late for the dinner engagement. The head of the Red Scorpions was also the one who was responsible for clearing the restaurant for the even in advance, he knew that his daughter would do better if there were no other people around.

Even though it only took Lena a moment to gather herself to reply, it somehow felt like an eternity at the same time before she was ready to give the other her response.

"Yes?" She wanted it to sound more confident than the way it had come out, but in her own mind it sounded partly like a question rather than the solid response she wanted it to be. Her fiancé didn't seem to take much notice of it however by the large grin that was on his face.

He didn't let her take the box from the bouquet, but move it so that he could take the box out himself and open it up so that she could see the ring before he moved to put it on her finger.

"I think now would be the right time to congratulate the couple." Jovani was the one who said this. Lena didn't pay much attention to what he was saying however as she waited for Samuel to put the ring on her finger, she didn't miss the inscription that had been written on it and it caused a tiny smirk to appear on her face.

This was short lived however when a sudden pop sound that came from behind them attracted both of their attention followed by a muted sound by someone that might have been a 'no'.

It was too late however as the pop sound that echoed was Jovani opening a bottle of champagne. He didn't just open it however, he gave it a few good shakes before he opened the bottle up. Perhaps, the only one who was amused by the situation aside from himself had been Leo.

The cold liquid was not something that the princess had been expecting and because of that, she couldn't hold back the small gasp that had escaped her mouth when she felt it splash against her hair and the back of her shirt. Samuel was slightly less affected it by due to the fact that he was kneeling in front of the other, but it still managed to get partly on his face and hair as well.

Lena wasn't quite sure how to react to what had happened. She wasn't fond of having her clothes wet, much less when it was unexpected like it had been in the current situation. The only thing that had really stopped her from turning around and giving the other the worst glare that she perhaps had ever fixed anyone with was the fact that Samuel hadn't finished putting the ring on her finger and there were other people around aside from her family.

"Could be worse?" Samuel half commented, half-asked as he put the ring on her finger. He took a moment to kiss the top of her left hand before he put it down again. He hoped that this small action would help to decrease the other's flaring temper. She pursed her lips in response to what the other said. She couldn't share his sentiments in thinking that the situation could be worse. This was pretty bad in her opinion.

Even if it was meant as a celebratory thing, champagne was better to drink than it was to waste in this kind of way. At least the second bottle that they had gotten hadn't been touched.

Or at least she had thought that would've been the case. Leo seemed to however think that Jovani hadn't done it well enough. He was wiser than the other had been and aimed less for the princess and more for the suitor who hadn't been as affected.

Zane didn't really say anything, but look on his face said there was a certain amount of amusement in regards to the situation even though he knew that it was going to cost him extra to make sure that everything was cleaned up properly before they left. Perhaps it would even have to happen before they would be able to eat since the food would probably be ready to come out soon.

While the couple hadn't spared, at least most of the mess had missed the table and either ended up on the attending party members or the floor. It was perhaps a childish thing to do, but it certainly add something a little extra to the event.
