Chapter 498 - Day MMXLIII, Part II

I landed in an alley, transformed, and rushed towards the city center, just to see Tihana among the members of the show. They were clearly fascinated by the smoking chicken.

- Fuck - escaped my mouth again, as I rushed forward to ascertain the situation better.

There were some English-speaking people among both the girl group and the show starts. They also clearly split themselves into pairs and were wearing different clothes now. Each couple had their designated color of a T-shirt and a black pair of trousers.

- Shit, fuck, shit - I whispered to myself. - What now?

The answer was quite obvious. I had to watch from afar. This idea, though, got quickly threw out through the window, since I caught Tihana's eyes focused on my person, and an evil smile crawled on her face.

I turned around and just walked away, predicting she wanted to get me somehow involved. I was angry, but more than that I felt like a moron, after realizing she just played me. She saw an opportunity and used it.

If I was less emotional about this, and actually thought a bit, I would use the 'Eyes of the Void' to look for her, instead of changing shape.

Now I got the outcome I was actually afraid of. Tihana got directly involved in the show and was being filmed. I could get her out, but she would probably make it look bad, so I just decided to not do that. I felt like all I could do was cross my fingers she won't get into trouble.

Without even realizing it I went to the training grounds. The noise from the ongoing training pulled me back to reality.

The participants of the healthcare project were training with Mihael. Some were on the sandpit, others were just watching from the stands. I also spotted Daniel among the people. For some reason, he had his eyes on the med staff.

There was quite a high probability of spies among those people, so I wasn't that surprised. The world's governments wanted to know exactly what was going on in Arc, and what the people, and soldiers in the city were capable of.

I spent quite a moment there, half wondering who exactly is he watching, half worrying about Tihana.

Then I suddenly heard a familiar voice from behind.

- It's him - said Tihana.

I turned around and saw her pointing at me. She wasn't alone. Except for Tam in her arms, she had two women with her. One was the older, permanent member of the cast, and the other a girl with bleached, blonde hair, braided together with a blue ribbon and put on her right shoulder as a single piece.

Her skin was porcelain white, and she was smiling at me.

They were wearing pink T-shirts, and had cameras on selfie sticks to keep shooting while walking with my fake daughter.

- Hi - they both said, and waved.

- They don't know English very well - explained Tihana - but they are looking for a hunter to join their team, and compete with others. I suggested you, dad.

"FUCK!", I screamed inside my own mind. Instead of yelling, that I smiled at them.

- He he.... That's a terrible idea - I mumbled out.

- We can't hear you - said Tihana, and started moving forward, to get closer, and causing the pair to follow her. - What did you say, dad?

- I said I'm busy, with... - I pointed back at the training going in the sandpit with my thumb.

The two girls Koreans didn't understand, so Tihana translated for them putting out a thumbs-up forward.

- He said OK! - she shouted all smiling.

The girls rushed laughing towards me and grabbed my arms, to pull me towards the city center. Tihana watched with an evil smile on her face.

- I'm gonna ground you so hard, that even your grandchildren won't be allowed to live in their rooms - I said through my teeth while smiling with a fake smile.

- I don't care. It was worth it - she replied and followed us.

The two other women were a bit confused with our exchange of words.

- So dad, those are Lee So-min and Yurin.

- Hello - said the older one first, and then the younger one repeated the words.

- I'm Peter - I introduced myself.

They spoke few words in Korean to one another, but I couldn't understand and was actually too focused on being angry at Tihana. Then they spoke again, and all my effort of saving the last spot for new language went straight to the garbage bin, as my skill clicked, and filled my brain with linguistic knowledge.

- Unnie, I hope we can win. I want the beef prize - said Yurin.

- Tihana said, he will be perfect for the competition. I'm sure we can win! - So-min reassured her.

- Too bad we both don't speak English. I hope oppa translated well for us, and we got the right person.

My fake daughter looked at them since her name was mentioned.

- Fortunately, I speak Korean.... now - I said to them.

They were shocked and stopped for a moment.

- Really? - asked the younger one.

- I'm good with languages - I explained, and threw few daggers with my eyes at Tihana.

- That's amazing! - said the older one. - We were so worried we won't be able to speak with you properly. We have a mission to pick up some local people for our team and participate in few missions to win the prizes - she explained.

- Tihana is not in your team? - I asked immediately, seeing a lifebuoy in what she just said to me.

- No. She was just so nice to tell us a few things about the city, and the people living here. She even gave directions where we can find hunters and led the two of us to you. Eun-seok oppa was translating for us.

- Haha - I faked another laugh. - What a lovely young woman she is, to do that for you.

- She is very nice - agreed So-min, and they kept pulling me with them all the way to the city center, to reunite with the filming crew.
