Chapter 164 - Days CDLXXXIV - CDXCVI, Part II

- What's going on? - Hatta asked after I entered his office.

He was already notified by his men about my return, so there was not much of a surprise.

- I have some news, but first... Tell me how are things going on with Rishi and Jayadeva.

- Poorly. They used up some points but were not able to get any combination of classes that would give them the right one.

- They wasted all the points?

- No. Not as far as I know, but they did put the whole thing on hold until we secure them an opportunity to earn more class points.

He sighed heavily.

- To be honest, this whole thing is becoming a waste of time and resources.

- I'll fix it. I have the solution.

- What? How?

- Did you know there was an option to buy the manual in the device? I bought it, and now I know a lot about class combinations. Not everything though, because there seems to be a second tome, but I have the solution. We will soon have the equipment.

He laughed.

- Great. Great. I was becoming really worried... Let's go and pay them a visit - he said while getting out from behind his desk.

- Sure. Let's go.

And we went. Tam followed us like a faithful dog. Jayadeva wasn't pleased when he saw us entering his workshop.

- What do you two want? I told you Hatta, that we are putting this whole thing on hold. We need to have more points, to try different combinations.

I ignored him, while Hatta engaged in the conversation, trying to explain everything. Meanwhile, I just went straight to Rishi.

- Mr... Peter... Did something happen?

- Hi. What classes did you pick, and how many points do you have left.

- Uhm... Em... I took fighter, so the killing part would be easier, then I saved the rest. After consulting with miss Marcella we came to the conclusion we should try mixing the engineer class, as well as the linguist class with others. So I bought those two... Are we in trouble? - he lowered his voice.

- No. So you have just that three?

- No. I also took the fire elementalist class, as it seemed to be a logical choice. Not only for the magical part but also for the usefulness in the workshop. Sadly, we didn't get any combinations that could be working.

- So you have three points left? Good. Buy the barrier maker class, and another engineer, or smith class, then combine those. Those will give you an infuser class, that has a skill allowing you to infuse the magic from for example fire elementalist class into weapons. The last point I would use for another barrier maker class, so you can strengthen the materials, making them sturdier.

- H-how do you know? Did you get those classes?

He seemed confused and surprised.

- No. Just try those, and let me know how it worked out - I have him a friendly pat on the shoulder and headed back to the exit.

- Hey! What did you tell to my son? - asked Jayadeva.

- He will tell you. Come on Hatta. Let's not waste their precious time, as they will be busy from now on.

Wuxia leader looked at me confused, and eventually just shrugged his shoulders, then followed me. Jayadeva also seemed confused and went to talk with Rishi, to find out what it all was about.

- So what did you tell him? - he asked when we got outside.

- The combination of classes. They should provide us with equipment soon, but we will also need more crystals for them. The batch they got before won't be enough for high-quality stuff.

- Will you provide? Wuxia is currently tight on crystals.

- I'll think about it tomorrow. Right now I want to do a bit of shopping, clean up, and rest.

- Let's talk tomorrow then.

He left me, trying his best to hide a wide smile of happiness. Things started to work out in our favor. Just the knowledge I had now in my head was worth those points, and there was way more than the manual offered. Being able to tell exact numbers of my resources gave me a great advantage in calculating what I can actually do while fighting. I could take more risks now.

I headed back to the device and waited my time in line to be able to finally use it. Tam still followed.

I had 4 427 470 points to use, and I was for sure gonna invest those in few useful skills. The house could wait. I needed to get stronger and to clear the spots harder and find myself a place where I can acquire class points for myself. There was so much to unlock.

When finally my time came I immediately invested a million points in Shadow walk, then another one in Shadow summoning. After I upgraded two of my fighter skills: Technique and Increased stamina. All for four million points.

I got stronger yet again, by a lot, but I still needed more. A lot more. There was just so much I could get now when I had the knowledge it all. I found out that classes have stages, but to unlock the next one you need not only class points, but also all of the skills from the previous one.

Although I didn't know if it was the same with the shadow soldier class, as it involved the unlocked shadow walker, but everything indicated it is. And I already had one of its skills fully bought out, which left only two remaining.

I got excited. Very, very excited. To the point, I didn't actually go to visit Nadia, but after swinging by the cafeteria to get some food, I went to my room to spend some time, and check the possibilities written down in my head.

Tam, yet again, followed me. As I lied on the bed to comfortably go through my new knowledge, he found a spot for himself on the chair.

The day came to an end with 427 470 points remaining on my account.
