Chapter 145 - Day CDXLIX, Part I

I got up just as always, but l didn't get up and kept lying on the bed for a while, then I went to buy some fresh clothes in the device since mine were not only stinky but also tattered. I took a bath after and changed.

Next, I went to grab some food in Wuxia's cafeteria. There were a lot of people already eating, sitting on long benches, behind the tables. I scanned for a free spot and spotted Nadia.

- Morning, Peter - she said with a smile, as she also noticed me.

Actually many people did. I was no longer a shadow of a person, but rather somebody easily recognizable.

- Morning - I returned the smile. - Let me grab a bowl, and let's talk.

- Ok.

I did as I said. She changed her spot, so we could eat together.

- How was your hunt? - she asked, to start the conversation.

- Good. I heard from Hatta that you are helping him now.

- A bit. I calculate how much supplies Wuxia will need, week to week. Mainly provisions, but also raw materials for armors, and other small things.

- Is it tough?

- A bit. A lot of walking and counting. Sometimes I also have to chase after people to estimate how much of what they will need. Some are assholes, and just want the materials to be when they want them, and they don't care about counting, so I have to really chase them.- She smiled slightly again - It's honest work.

- Good. I'm happy you like it.

- I don't, but it's fine.

- Should I talk with Hatta to get you something else?

- No. I'm fine. Eat, Peter. You probably didn't have anything warm for a long time.

I nodded and started eating. She was almost finished with her portion, so she mostly watched me devouring that bowl of goulash.

- You were really hungry, weren't you?

- Yeah. Are you free today?

- I can be, but what are we gonna do?

- I don't know. I actually never saw you in a dress, so how about we get you one?

She blushed and nodded.

- Let's look for a tailor then, and talk the details.

We took our bowls and returned them, then we went outside to look for a tailor. It took us quite a bit of time, as we did a stroll through multiple different places that focused on making different things. In the meantime, she explained to me what color and type of material she wanted. It took quite a bit of effort, but I finally thought that I have a good idea of what it looks like.

Eventually, we found a tailor that agreed to make the dress. I had two orc crystals, but one was more than enough to pay for it. I got some change, to be precise 3 goblin crystals. Then I went to get the material, and Nadia, in the meantime, discussed the details.

We kept hanging around through the day. I learned she found somebody to take care of Tam as she was working, then we visited my house since she actually never have been there. After, we grabbed some food, and the evening approached. I saw Sanders and Will heading towards Velvet Lotus, and I immediately knew what's going on. I decided to follow them with her, just in case.

She wasn't so keen on visiting Velvet Lotus, but she still agreed. We passed through bouncing Alice.  She happily let us get inside. She actually had the cat I summoned for her, laying on a cushion next to her legs as she was sitting on a stool. I found out she named it Razzle.

We found ourselves a table inside, with a good view of Nil and Will, and I went to bring us some drinks. I actually opened an account there and put the 3 goblin crystals on it. I could get the drinks for free, but I didn't want to be a parasite.

I got us two glasses of wine. They were expensive, but I really didn't care. After that I enjoyed the evening with Nadia, still keeping an eye on my two friends. We kept talking about my house, and how far it is from the city center. It was kinda interesting, as we discussed and compared how we actually wanna live.

But then Nil went on the move, as some other guys were leaving, probably his target was among them. I didn't go, but rather kept my eye on Will, and as he went outside, I told Nadia that we should call it a day, and returned since it's starting to get late. She agreed as she wasn't feeling too comfortable in Aisha's place anyway.

As we got outside, we witnessed a scene. Sanders and some guys surrounded by a bunch of drunk people, Will among them, but further away, to the side, argued over something.

- Isn't that somebody you are hunting with? - she asked, pointing at Nil.

- Yeah. There is also Will, there.

- Maybe you should...

- Let's wait a bit, and see. Maybe they will resolve it on their own.

- Ok.

We circled around, to get a better view, but still kept our distance. There were four guys, in decent shape, but definitely a bit tipsy. They looked pretty tough, but still not like Sanders, who really had sculpted muscles.

- Watch your mouth you little shit. Do you have any idea who we are? - said one of them.

- Bunch of little pussies. You walk like the road is yours, but it's not. Other people want to pass, so you should move out of the way - he replied.

- You really are asking for it, fucker!

- Yeah, know your place, or we will put you down.

- Bunch of losers like you couldn't put me down in a hundred years, but come and try. I'll gladly knock you down.

And one of them stepped forward and pushed Nil.

- That's all you got? My grandma has more strength.

The guy couldn't take it anymore and swung his fist.. Sanders dodged by stepping back, but the fight was on, as the remaining three started to move.
