Chapter 291 - 291 Prejudice

291 Prejudice

After eating, He Xun learned what his wife was talking about.

Chen Wei’er held a small camera in her hand and pulled He Xun along.

“Let’s go and record!”

“When did you buy the camera?” He Xun didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He didn’t even know when Chen Wei’er had prepared the camera.

“During the days I was getting ready!” Chen Wei’er was proud of herself.

He Xun clapped for Chen Wei’er.

“Mrs. He is really amazing!”

“Mr. He is also incredibly fantastic!” Chen Wei’er was eager to take a picture of He Xun.

“Just stand there. That field of wildflowers is really beautiful! Don’t be shy, you have to be more confident! Raise your right hand higher!”

He Xun was helpless.

“Is it your plan to film me?”

“Of course not!” Chen Wei’er took a few photos. After she was satisfied, she put away the camera and continued to walk forward while pulling her husband.

“There should be more people in the village. Let’s go interview everyone. Let’s get down to business.”

“What interview?” He Xun was puzzled.

Chen Wei’er explained, “Interview everyone about how they feel about their life. What’s inconvenient about it? What makes it special? I think that’s what the vloggers do.”

“You want to introduce this place to the public?” He Xun pondered for a while.

Chen Wei’er nodded her head heavily.

“Don’t you think it’s beautiful here? Although the journey was really tiring, the environment here is perfect. The air is fresh, and the people here are kind and honest!” As she spoke, Chen Wei’er became excited, and her eyes sparkled.

“Maybe this place will become the next tourist attraction. Don’t many rich people like places with good air to recuperate?”

He Xun laughed. He didn’t want to hurt Chen Wei’er’s feelings, so he echoed her.

“You’ll be the first one to discover this place. When everyone comes here for a vacation in the future, we’ll build a Memorial Hall dedicated to you!”

When Chen Wei’er thought of this scene, she became even more excited.

“That’s great!”

The two of them walked for a while and met a few children who were carrying bamboo baskets and approaching their direction.

The bamboo basket was filled to the brim with grass and firewood.

Chen Wei’er turned the camera to video mode and pulled He Xun along as they walked over to the children.

“Hello, little friends.”

Chen Wei’er smiled gently. There were three boys and two girls among the children. They didn’t look old. Perhaps, they were around ten years old.

A few of the children were still on guard, and one of the little girls glanced timidly at He Xun, who was behind Chen Wei’er.

Chen Wei’er quickly explained to them.

“Did you know that the village is going to build a school? We’re here to build a school, so you don’t have to be afraid. I just want to ask a few questions, can I?”

The little girl in the lead glanced behind Chen Wei’er and He Xun. There were already villagers working nearby, so she nodded.

These children really paid attention to their safety. Chen Wei’er nodded in approval. It seemed that the basic general education in the village was decent.

The children wouldn’t talk to strangers, and they only stopped when they saw familiar adults behind them.

“How old are you guys?” Chen Wei’er asked.

“I’m 13. They’re all 8. My sister is 11,” the girl in the lead answered.

Chen Wei’er looked at the tanned and thin little girl in front of her. She didn’t look like a 13-year-old at all. Due to malnutrition, she looked younger than a child her age.

Chen Wei’er felt her heart ache. However, she did not show it and continued to ask with a smile.

“What are your names?”

“I’m called Zhao Di,” the little girl in the lead responded.

Chen Wei’er’s smile suddenly turned bitter. In most places, it was a deeply ingrained standard to value men over women. There were many girls whose names depicted this prejudice.

As expected, Zhao Di began to introduce the other children, “This is my sister, Niandi. The three of them are Jianlong, Jiangong, and Jianye, respectively.”

The girl’s name was related to the boy, while the boy’s name was related to his career.

“My name is Chen Wei’er. You guys can call me Sister Wei’er. This is my husband. You can call him Brother.” Chen Wei’er also introduced herself to them.

“What’s a husband?” Zhao. Di tilted her head and asked curiously.

“The word husband means spouse. Your father is your mother’s husband. He is your mother’s spouse.”

“Oh.” Not only Zhao Di, but the other four children also had an understanding look on their faces.
