Chapter 23 - It's All My Fault

Chapter 23 It’s All My Fault

When he said the word “leave”, Fu Beiting seemed to have used up all his strength. He was unwilling to accept Qin Xiangwan’s death.

“It’s my fault.” Su Xinyue’s eyes turned red as tears streamed down her face. “I’ve let you down, I’ve let Xiangwan down. I went to the washroom and when I came back… I realized that Xiangwan was not breathing.”

She took out a handkerchief and covered her whimpering mouth. “It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t gone to the washroom, Xiangwan would not have passed! It’s all my fault.”

Su Xinyue suddenly raised her arm and gave herself a tight slap.

Pa!

Her delicate face immediately turned red and swollen.

Fu Beiting was stunned.

“It’s all my fault! I shouldn’t have gone to the washroom,” Su Xinyue cried and kept slapping herself.

Even the bodyguards beside her were frightened by her actions and rushed to calm her down.

Fu Beiting squeezed his eyes shut and said in a deep and hoarse voice, “It’s not your fault.”

“Beiting!” Su Xinyue cried and threw herself into his arms. “I really want to see Xiangwan

again.”

This time, Fu Beiting did not hug her. He merely let Su Xinyue pounce on his chest.

Raising his head, he looked out the window with hollow eyes.

It was like a piece of his heart had been forcefully dug out. When a gust of wind blew through that gap, his entire body felt cold as

ice.

Su Xinyue was still crying in his arms, but her eyes were filled with jealousy and hatred.

Why was Fu Beiting still thinking about that woman even when she’s dead?

Suddenly, she felt a strong tug on her body. She stumbled and almost fell.

Su Xinyue looked up in disbelief. She had never expected Fu Beiting to push her away so violently.

“Beiting…”

Fu Beiting ignored her. With bloodshot eyes, he asked the doctor, “How did she die?”

The doctor was shocked by his terrifying expression. He was stunned for a moment before he replied, “The patient was in a coma and was unconscious. Her muscles twitched and blocked her respiratory tract. She died from asphyxiation…”

Asphyxiation…

Fu Beiting clenched his fists tightly. He could not accept this reason.

It was just a moment of carelessness and she left just like that.

“Why did you not look after her better!!” He roared fiercely, exuding a cold aura.

The ward was filled with immense pressure. All the medical staff present lowered their heads in fear. Even Su Xinyue was so nervous that she did not dare to make a sound.

Auntie Zhang wiped her tears and said, “President Fu, did you forget? You were the one who instructed us not to arrange any caretakers in Madam’s ward.”

Fu Beiting froze on the spot.

He remembered…

In order to teach Qin Xiangwan a lesson, he did not allow anyone to take care of her in the ward. He even ordered Auntie Zhang to go accompany Su Xinyue.

The culprit for her death.

It was himself…

Fu Beiting’s eyes were blood red, as if a thousand knives were stabbing him.

He was the one responsible for Qin Xiangwan’s death.

Slowly, he raised his head and scanned the crowd before him.

The empty look in his eyes made everyone in the room jump with fear. They had never seen President Fu so distraught.

Suddenly, Fu Beiting stumbled forward and spat out a mouthful of blood.

Su Xinyue was the closest to him, and a few drops of blood splattered on her face. When she looked up, she screamed in shock.

The surrounding crowd were frightened and rushed forward to help. “President Fu?”

Fu Beiting’s chest heaved up and down heavily. He felt his heart ache as his vision flashed dark.

His tall body was like a toppling mountain as he slowly collapsed to the ground.

His vision blurred, and the voices that entered his ears became further and further away.

“President Fu, what’s wrong?”

“Someone come quickly, doctor!”

“President Fu spat blood!”
