After the clothes shopping it was time for a bath, but before that I had a small request to make. "Alex, you said I had enough to buy several houses? Do you mind taking me to someone so we can take a look? I will need a base of operations here in town."

Alex thought for a moment before she spoke. "Let's just to back up and see Laurel. She will be able to handle the matter quite quickly."

Just like that we ended up back on the top floor, once again knocking on the door or the vice guild leader. Laurel had an exhausted look on her face when she opened the door, but a sweet smile crossed her face when she saw who it was.

"You've returned rather quickly, without bathing and in your old clothes. Tsk. What am into do with you girls."

"We actually have already went shopping and are going to the bath house after this.. Maybe you want to join us? You look rather beat."

Laurel looked back at her office with a hesitant look. "I.. don't think I really have the time. There is so much to be done.."

"It's fine! You can consider it work related since we need your help anyways." Alex laughed. "You always work yourself too hard these days. The only time you've smiled is when you saw Yuri."

Laurel still hesitated as she looked at them. "What do you need my help with? Are you guys ped chance planning a wedding already?"

Both of our faces went red. But I managed to get the words out. "No! we don't even know if we like each other. I need to buy a house. I don't have a place to stay in town, and rather than wasting my gold on a room in an inn I might as well just buy a place. "

"Oh! that's a good idea. I need to get Alex out of my place anyways. Were not even related and a grown woman is staying with me. People will begin to think we are an Item!" She quickly closed the door behind her and began to hum a song.

"I've been wondering, how can you be her aunt? I mean yes you were going to marry her uncle. But You're what, 20?"

"23 actually and her uncle was actually only 2 years older than me. With him and my brother gone she is the only family I have left. Well that in my daughter."

"You have a daughter? Since when?" Alex asked excitedly. "How come I have never met her? I've known you since you were 15!"

Laurel blushed. "Well it's a recent development. The goblins were not.. Anyways I gave birth while I was gone to a rather intelligent goblin. I believe that my own aptitude with magic was passed down and that she will be quite the Wizard when she gets older, even if she has taken quite an unconventional path..."

I got excited but glared at her. "When were you planning on telling me? And when did you find out?"

"I found out back when you had killed the guards. When you passed out I read your status. Right there, under your heritage was my own name as your mother. Your father was the chieften that you ended. I panicked and left. I'm sorry it was such a traumatic experience I did not know what to do. So I left. I left you that letter so that you could find your way here. I'm sorry" She bowed as she spoke, her words echoed through my ears.

I couldn't keep my emotions in check as I wrapped my arms around her and started to cry. "I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that mom. I will get strong enough that you will never have to worry about it again."

My mother also cried as she held me. However she withdrew rather abruptly as she wiped her eyes. "Let's just focus on getting you settled. And can you not call me mom? How about big Sister? Mom makes me feel old, and really I did abandon you back there.."

I laughed. "No can do mom. I understand why you left, but you did what you could. I was already an adult when you left. Most goblins don't even get that chance."

She nodded to my words. "Then mom it is. Now let's go find you a place, I need to get that freeloader out of my houss." Both of us laughed as Alex glared.
