Chapter 333: Break in

When Elder Wu gave Lu Chen the report about He Tao, he was confused. How did He Tao's company get ruined? His company shouldn't have been bankrupt in just a day.

'It was most likely staged.' That was his first thought on this matter. But by who?

That's why Elder Wu investigated this matter even more. And it turns out that Cao Wei was the one who did it! 

"Bullshit! How could Cao Wei be the culprit? He's the one to help me?!" Why would he go and help the person he just destroyed? It just didn't make any sense.

"That's what I thought too. But don't you think it's suspicious that Cao Wei kept asking you to sign documents instead of himself?" Lu Chen examines the work He Tao had done in the company. 

There was an absurd amount of documents signed under his name. Realizing this, 

Lu Chen looked at the work Cao Wei did, and he had little if any documents signed. 

He asked Duan Huiling about it, and she told him that He Tao's been the one signing everything instead of Cao Wei.

Now it clicked. Lu Chen knew the reason why Cao Wei did all of that to He Tao. 

'He wanted him to be his fall guy.' The signing of the documents made sense. If Cao Wei got into any trouble, he could just pin everything onto He Tao instead.

Not only that, He Tao is loyal to Cao Wei with how he picked him up from the gutters. So the person has no clue as to what Cao Wei is planning. 

"..." He Tao became silent. Hearing all of that, He Tao didn't know what to think. How could he believe Lu Chen when he was Cao Wei's arch rival?

Yet, what Lu Chen said made a lot of sense. Whenever there were documents for Cao Wei to sign, he would give them to him instead.

"They are mostly useless. Just sign these documents as quickly as possible." Cao Wei didn't let He Tao think about it as he forced him to sign. 

He Tao didn't think about it either as he signed them. 

"If you still don't believe me, check out these documents he made you sign." Lu Chen continues as he slides him more papers. 

He Tao looks at the document, and the blood rushes to his head!

"That bastard!" The document Cao Wei got him to sign was cooperation with another company. However, there was one line that was a problem. If one side didn't meet the quota, they would have to pay it from their own pocket. 

And he signed something like that!

He couldn't believe it. What Lu Chen told him right now was all true. 

"I'm going to kill that bastard!" Everything he had worked so hard to achieve was taken away from him just like that!

"So, do you want to help me now?" Seeing how angry he was, Lu Chen knew this was the perfect opportunity for him. 

He Tao's expression is knitted. He explains,

"I can help you. But the problem is that I don't want to be implicated in this as well." Being with Cao Wei for so long, he had enough information to ruin him too. 

However, there was some information that would get him implicated too. 

"Alright. I won't let you get you involved in this as well." Hearing that, He Tao starts to spill everything out to Lu Chen. 

The grin on Lu Chen's face becomes wide as he hears everything about Cao Wei.

"Hmmm, why hasn't he responded?" Right now, Cao Wei was calling He Tao, wondering if he had done his job. His face was tense as it's been a few days since he gave He Tao the poison. 

'Did he get caught?' That could be the only reason why He Tao hasn't responded. However, Cao Wei isn't saddened by it. He was just disappointed. 

"Hah, how could a tool be so useless." He never thought of He Tao as his right hand at all. As Lu Chen said, He Tao is a pawn. 

Cao Wei needed somebody to be his scapegoat in everything. It was a good way for him to dodge dangerous things. 

And he wouldn't suffer any problems. Even if He Tao says Cao Wei told him to do it, he could just deny everything. 

'But such a good tool is gone now.' The only sad thing that's happening to him is the time invested in He Tao. All that was now gone. 

And he had to waste more time to make another scapegoat.

As Cao Wei continues to think about this,
