It wasn't a surprise for Ye Meixiu that Zhang Wenling didn't know who she was as she changed so much when she was nine years old. Ye Meixiu explains, "Aunty, it's me. Meixiu."

Meixiu, Meixiu, Ye Meixiu? It took Zhang Wenling a minute to process what she said. And when she realizes who this child was, she screams, "Xiu Xiu is that you?! My goodness, you became so much more beautiful than when you were a child." She remembers how Ye Meixiu was cute as a porcelain doll. But the person in front of her was no doll. The childlike innocence was no more, and only a marvelous beauty is there now.

Zhang Wenling immediately hugs the child once Ye Meixiu nods her head, "How have you been, Xiu Xiu?" She had learned a lot from her parents, especially from Ye Meixiu's father. The man consistently boasts about his daughter's beauty and intelligence whenever they meet up. But Zhang Wenling wants to hear it from the child's mouth.

"I've been doing fine, aunty." Ye Meixiu gently smiles as she hands Zhang Wenling the box of sweets. She adds, "Aunty, I brought some sweets with me. I hope you like them."  

"Aww, Xiu Xiu, you shouldn't have. You're like family to me. However, I won't say no to your kindness. Whatever you buy, aunty will like them." Seeing that she brought gifts as well made Zhang Wenling really happy. 

She wasn't the only one happy. When Ye Meixiu heard how Zhang Wenling said she was family, the child felt over the moon. Ye Meixiu, calm down, you got something to do. 

"Aunty, is brother Chen home?" Her main reason for coming here is for Lu Chen.

When Zhang Wenling heard her ask about Lu Chen, she started to make a strange expression on her face. She explains, “Xiu Xiu, Xiao Chen is sleeping right now. He had just finished his training.” Even though she said it to be kid-friendly, Zhang Wenling’s thoughts were different. If I tell Xiao Chen that he’s injured, how will she react?

“Then I should just leave then. I can come over another time.” It could have been a perfect time for her to build her relationship today with Lu Chen. But Ye Meixiu knew she would have another chance.

“Nonsense! Xiu Xiu, how could I let you leave when you come this far? Come now, let’s go check if Xiao Chen is up now.” Before Ye Meixiu could respond, Zhang Wenling grabbed her hand and brought her into the house. Zhang Wenling knew she was going to play the devil's advocate.

And that’s what caused the situation right now.

It's like a warzone in Lu Chen's room as the smell of gunpowder fills the entire room. Ye Meixiu and Kang Shuchun glare at each other like they met the person who killed their parents. The two didn't need any greeting as they just stared into each other eye to eye.

They have the same feelings for the same man. So, the hostility between the two increases ten-fold when they meet another rival.

However, the person who felt the brunt of the two’s hostility is Lu Chen. He is between the two’s line of sight. And Zhang Wenling, the person who started all of this, watches from the sidelines. She had the biggest grin on her face.

My son is so popular. Seeing two beautiful women in Lu Chen’s room, she felt proud as a mother that her son can snag the heart of two beauties.

“It seems that you guys have a lot of catching up to do. So I will leave the three of you alone.” With an old woman like me here, the three of them won’t be able to do their thing. 

Before she left, she turned to the sweet in her hand, “Oh Xiu Xiu, I’ll bring the sweets up after I cut them.” It won't be any fun if I don’t see the outcome of it. Naturally, she wants to come back and see the result that will come with the three.

When Zhang Wenling quickly left the room, Lu Chen’s eyes twitched at how shameless his Lao Ma was. You’re going to leave your son like this when you know I’m going to die! And you’re even coming back to see the ending!  Lu Chen grits his teeth as his Lao Ma runs away safely, and he is left to deal with the aftermath.
