Chapter 37 Little Ethan’s Secret Mission

Day Three…

~~*****~~

[ Dream Knight Academy… ]

Little Ethan was in a bright mood today as Abigail returned to the mansion together with Nathan. She seemed fine as if nothing bad happened to her. Abigail didn't mention anything about her getting sick after skipping a meal last night.

Axel made sure to apologize to Abigail, asking her not to tell Ethan about his negligence. Of course, she agreed to his request but in exchange, Axel had to fulfill one of her requests in the future.

Abigail started to plant a seed that she would reap someday, using it to her advantage. Now, Butler Li and Axel had favors to fulfill for Abigail. They would be useful to her in the future.

Back to Ethan, the bullies stopped bothering him for now. He attended the class peacefully as the bullies were behaving like angels. But who would have thought that the devil would drop by the school to check on Little Ethan?

Both Teacher Jane and the other students were surprised upon seeing the gorgeous man walking in the hallway. His cold appearance exuded elegance and dignified aura, enough to intimidate anyone but at the same time, capture any woman's attention, including her heart.

Nathan seldom visits his son in school. Old Man Xu was the one accompanying Ethan during school events. Little Ethan understood how busy his father was when it came to work. Unknown to him, aside from managing the company, Nathan was also handling the operation of the Syphiruz Mafia.

"Dad? What are you doing here?" Ethan asked his father with a deep frown as soon as Nathan entered his classroom. The young boy ran in his father's direction.

"Visiting my son," Nathan said matter-of-factly, his hand ruffling Ethan's hair.

"Dad, stop that! Don't make me look like a kid," Ethan complained, pouting his lips.

Nathan let out a short chuckle and said, "You are still a kid!" Ethan just rolled his eyes at Nathan's remarks, crunching his nose.

"Now tell me, where are those bullies?" Nathan transferred his gaze from Ethan to the classroom. His eyes swept around the room, observing Ethan's classmates.

"Dad! Just go home. I'm fine. I can handle them by myself," Ethan moved behind his father, pushing him towards the exit door.

Nathan tapped Ethan's nose, shaking his head in objection. "I'm not going to leave. You let another person confront those bullies, but not your own father?" There was a hint of jealousy in Nathan's voice. He was referring to Abigail as the other person.

Ethan didn't know whether to cry or laugh at his father's words. Meanwhile, Teacher Jane approached Nathan, her face blushing red. She was starstruck by Nathan's handsome features. He was like every woman's dreams–rich, smart, powerful, influential, gorgeous, and hot. He was a complete package! All in one!

"Mr. Sparks… it's good to see you here. Is there anything I can help you with?" Teacher Jane asked him, her lips curling up in a shy smile.

Nathan had already seen this many times. Women would always approach him first, with a goal in mind– catching his attention. Numerous women tried to throw themselves on him, flirt, and seduce him but no one had achieved their goal so far.

Just one sharp glance at him could give them a fright, making them lose their confidence. How much more if he started telling them to fuck off?

Since Ethan was in front of them, Nathan tried his best to be patient with his teacher. But it was crystal clear that she was trying her luck, hoping that Nathan would take notice of her.

"I'm talking to my son. Can you please give us some privacy?" Nathan replied with a stern cold voice.

Teacher Jane was at a loss for words. She didn't expect that Nathan would be so cold and rude towards her. Feeling embarrassed, Teacher Jane immediately turned around, bringing her focus back to her other students.

'Dad is always harsh to women. Fortunately, Miss Abi is not afraid of him. She can tolerate his grumpy and stone-cold behavior.' Ethan thought to himself, smiling cheerfully.

Nathan motioned Ethan to go with him outside. The young boy obediently followed his father. They found a spot at the school ground where they could talk alone.

"Dad, I assure you. Miss Abi already warned the bullies and their parents. They will no longer bother me."

Nathan heaved a deep sigh. "Why didn't you tell me this? Why did you allow them to bully you?"

"Because I don't want to. You already have a full plate, Dad. I don't want to create trouble in school and add a burden to you. I just want to ignore them. But don't worry, Dad. From now on, I will fight back if they dare to bully me again. Miss Abi told me to be strong and fight them head-on!" Little Ethan showed him his small fists, his eyes filled with determination. It seemed that Abigail already inspired him.

Nathan could only smile faintly, stroking the boy's head. "Fine. I will trust you with that."

"Okay, Dad! Do you feel fine now? Is that the only reason you came here?"

"Yes. I'm fine. I was on my way to meet your Uncle Stephen and decided to drop by and check on you."

"Thanks, Dad!" Ethan immediately pounced on him, hugging him.

"For what?" Nathan asked his son in confusion.

Ethan raised his head, flashing his charming smile. "For bringing Miss Abi back. And for not hurting her."

Nathan was taken aback for a moment. He could see the joy in his son's eyes whenever he would talk about Abigail.

"Do you really like her that much?" He asked his son.

Ethan's eyes sparkled in delight and he bobbed his head frantically. "Yes, Dad. I like her so much…"

'For you,' he added in his thought.

Nathan could only smile and shook his head helplessly. "Alright then. I'll give you a secret mission."

Ethan's eyes went round as soon as he heard that. "What mission, Dad?" His voice filled with excitement.

"Get to know her more. … her likes and dislikes… what she is as a person. Know even her little secrets… and tell me about it… Everything about her. Report it to me. Understand?"

Ethan blinked his eyes in both astonishment and puzzlement. "Dad? Are you sure you are really fine? Why do you want to know more about her?" He looked at his father suspiciously.

"Because you said she will become your wife. I need to know more about her for you to get my approval. Otherwise, I will not marry you off to her. I'm your father. You have to get my blessings before you marry her," Nathan said as an alibi.

Ethan: "???"

In truth, Nathan just wanted Ethan's help to investigate Abigail's identity. He thought Abigail would lower her guard when in front of Ethan and she might open up to his cute and charming son. This was only one way to gather more information about her.

"Hmm, Okay Dad! I will do that. I will prove to you that she's the one!" Ethan said confidently, agreeing to his father's plan.

'I will help you see that she's the one for you…'

Both father and son have different motives in mind.
